Game summaries for the Fall 2008 season
11/9/2008 - Rhinebeck Riot 5, Yorktown 2
The U14 Riot finished their fall season with a 5-2 win over Yorktown at home. It was a team effort with Will Fox scoring two goals and Jake Euell,Nick Hoynes and Mike Whitman each adding one with assists from Meredith Mimoso,Colin Lang and Aaron Hoffman. In the back field the defense of Elliott Hoffman, Sean Phelan and Luke Babirad shut down the Yorktown offense. Rhinebeck goalie Eric Rosenzweig had 9 saves with notable performances from Nick Soden, Andy Chestney, Nolan Graziano, and Bridget Cunningham.
11/2/2008 - Rhinebeck Riot 3, Cortlandt 3
The U14 Riot traveled to Cortlandt only to end in a tie, 3-3. Meredith Mimoso was the only scorer of the game, tallying a hat trick. She was assisted offensively by Paul Henke, Jake Euell, Will Fox, and Aaron Hoffman. Goalie Eric Rosenzweig had 6 saves.
10/26/2008 - New Paltz 4, Rhinebeck Riot 1
The U14 Riot just couldn't turn opportunities into goals against a fast New Paltz team. The only goal for Rhinebeck came from Will Fox, despite multiple shots by Jake Euell, Meredith Mimoso, and Mike Whitman.
10/19/2008 - Washingtoneville 6, Rhinebeck Riot 1
The U14 Riot surrendered a tough loss to a commanding Washingtonville team, losing 6-1. The lone goal was scored by Meredith Mimoso off a textbook cross by Jake Euell. Down 6-1 at the half, the back lines of Luke Babirad, Colin Lang, Paul Henke, and Elliot Hoffman kept the opponents stimied from that point on. Notable play was demonstrated by Will Fox, and goalie Eric Rosenzweig, making 9 saves in the second half.
10/5/2008 - Poughkeepsie 1, Rhinebeck Riot 0
The U14 Riot lost a heart breaker to the Poughkeepsie Rockets 1-0. Although tallying a loss, the team played solid soccer for 70 minutes with some exceptional play by Will Fox, Jake Euell and Sam Tigges. Riot goalie Eric Rosenzweig had some amazing saves, and assisted by the defense leads the league with the fewest goals given up in the U14 division.
9/28/2008 - North Salem 2, Rhinebeck Riot 0
The U14 Riot lost a hard played game to the North Salem Eagles. In the first half the Riot were all about defense led by Tigges,Henke,Hoffman and Babirad allowing only 3 shots on goal. Halftime saw the score tied at 0. In the second half the Rhinebeck offense came out strong and aggressive with some great play by Hoynes, Mimoso and Euell but were unable to capitalize. Goalie Eric Rosenzweig had 11 saves in the 2-0 defeat.
9/21/2008 - Rhinebeck Riot 3, Goshen 0
The U14 Riot home opener ended in a win over the Goshen rockets 3-0. Aaron Hoffman scored first goal of the season for Rhinebeck. Nick Hoynes added two goals of his own. Meredith Mimoso and Jake Euell played strong games for the offense. The defense led by Tigges, Babirad, Elliot Hoffman, and Henke shut down the Goshen offense and only allowed 5 shots over 70 minutes of soccer. Will Fox dominated the midfield along with strong showings by Bridget Cunningham and Nick Soden.
9/14/2008 - Newburgh 3, Rhinebeck Riot 0
The U14 Riot had a tough loss to the Real FC team this week. Defensemen Luke Babirad, Sam Tigges, and Elliot Hoffman limited the attack, while Kaelan Dietrich, Nick Hoynes, and Will Fox tried to sieze any opportunity. Jake Euell and Meredith Mimoso had one tremendous goal, but it was reversed on a call.
