My Site News: JW North Aiming For More CIF Division II Plaques!

JW North Aiming For More CIF Division II Plaques!

With their boys and girls being the reigning Div. II CIF Champs, JW North will have to step it up big time to earn that right here in 2008.  But, no team has demostrated that ability then this squad over the past ten seasons.  Leading the way for North's girls is Marjani Maldonado, who won her heats in both hurdles.  Carrying the boys on his shoulders is Tommy Curry who won both of his heats in the short sprints.  Tony Crutchfield is right there as well qualifying in the top five for both hurdles.

Our huge "break out" performer of the day is Vista del Lago's Serkadis Krohm, who advanced in the 1600 and 3200 meters!  Coming through with huge personal bests (10 seconds in the 1600 and over 20 seconds in the 3200), she now puts herself right up there near the top of out county lists for the season, and running her best times at the right time of the year!  Meanwhile, another nice highlight of the day was Lakeside's Robyn Carroll who advanced in all three sprints!  It's doubtful that she will triple at CIF Finals but is looking good in the 400 and 200.  Not to be overlooked was the awesome performance from Norco's Ashley Perkins.  Perkins is #1 in the triple jump and #2 in the long jump.  On the boys' side, Roosevelt's Bryan Adams churned out a huge pr in the 400 meters while also leading his 1600 relay squad to next week's finals.
