My Site News: Week #4 Heats Up the Action

Week #4 Heats Up the Action

Many of you are beginning league action this week!  Meanwhile, many of our best endurance angels will congregate at the Azusa Pacific University Distance Carnival which tends to bring dramatic inclusions to our Top Marks List from the 800 to the 3200!  For the boys, breaking 10:15 is not what is used to be and for the girls, breaking 12:00 used to be a major threshold for girls...not anymore!  With the increased competition to go along with more dedicated coaching, we're finding much faster times all across the board!

Murrieta Valley traveled over to Vista Murrieta in a clash of the top programs in the county.  Vista Murrieta's boys proved that to be true as they ran away with an incredible 100-36 victory.  But, on the girls' side - it was Murrieta Valley who reigned supreme with their 84.6 - 51.3 victory!  Individual marks were simply awesome as VM had wind gauges at the meet as well!  VM had THREE boys go over 22'10" while 3rd place in the 100 meters was 11.01 (wind legal and FAT)!!!!  VM's Nick Mixon and fab-freshman Earvin Simmons tied in a dead finish at 10.94!  Mixon got the nod but be prepared to hear Simmons' name for years to come.  Meanwhile, the 400 relays were 43.23 and 43.48!  VM's girls were led by Dynese Adams while Lynn Patu really impressed with her 37'10.5" shot put effort, but those two could not overcome the overall depth of Murrieta's jumpers and hurdlers!  Considering how Murrieta Valley was also without a top sprinter and did not field a 400 relay team is even more impressive.  VM's boys and MV's girls are for real!  Dyestatcal.com has provided us with a great write-up on the meet at http://www.dyestatcal.com/?pg=dyestatcal2008TrackMarch-19-Vista-Murr-Murr-Valley-dual

Meanwhile, an epic battle has emerged in the boys 800 meters as Rancho Verde sophomore Ruben Danielson outlasted junior Emmanual Ngula, 1:55 - 1:57 in yesterday's dual meet!  Ngula was coming off of a 4:28 1600m earlier...

Look as we update our Top Marks List throughout the morning...
