2007 Riverside County Girls Athlete of the Year???
In a TOUGH call with so many talented women in Riverside County this past 2007 season, Murrieta Valley's Kelsey Rubeor gets our nod as our 2007 recipient. Despite a late-season knee injury that did not allow her to compete in the post-season, Rubeor's marks were unlike any athlete that has ever competed at the prep level for our county! Gayle Hunter may hold the county record for the Heptathlon, but no athlete showed more diversity than Kelsey! Check these stats out..

**4808 points in the Heptathlon (only behind Gayle Hunter in county history)
**14.66 in the 100 Meter Hurdles (2nd at IEC, 1st at Surf City)
**18'2" in the Long Jump
**5'7" in the High Jump (qualified for the 2006 California State Meet)
**43'3" in the Shot Put (2nd at IEC, 2nd at the Surf City Invite)
**25.4 in the 200 meters
**36'3" in the Triple Jump
**131'7" in the javelin
**posted a 60.4 split in the 1600 Relay
**Anchored the Murrieta Valley Shuttle Hurdles Team @ Arcadia (#3 in USA-2007 and new county record)

Kelsey is already at Syracuse University attending Summer School classes. She will be rehabbing with their athletic staff and making great progress in rebuilding her surgically repaired torn ACL and Meniscus. It's tough choosing an athlete that did not participate in CIF competition, but we took into strong consideration her incredible credentials and where they would have landed her in the post-season.
