I've spoken with both her and Mark Owen and we're going to push the
opening of the Spring season BACK. The first games will be on Monday
after the Easter Holiday. The entire first week (Saturday, April 5 -
Friday, April 10) will be rescheduled later. At this point we don't
know if we are going to add it to the end of the season (same time
same place at the end)as the last week OR try and plug the games in as
we go.

Attached is the Destiny Emergency Plan and the SDSSA Medical Release form.  I need everyone to fill these forms out, so that everything is up to date.  For our new players, Katie and Kari, I will also need a copy of your birth certificate.  Cali, I will get yours out of the Flames binder.   

Can I please get everyone to have these ready to give back to me by the Parent meeting on Thursday night (5:30pm @ Cambell field)?

Doesn't look good as for weather this next week.  Let's plan on getting together Thursday evening 5:30 at Cambell Street soccer fields - if weather permits we'll get our first practice in, if not, we can at least get together and get the tournament schedule and decide which we are attending. 

Due to the weather forecast, we will not be practicing Tuesday. 

Hello team – I know things seem a little too quite being the season starts in just over a week but I received word that we got our practice space as requested (thanks Barb!!!).  We will be practicing Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 – yes I know, that’s two hours, but I’m hoping I can have the Flames practice from 7:00 to 8:30 – giving 30 minutes of time for Destiny to work with them.

As stated in my e-mail last week, our first game is Saturday April 4^th.  I will get the website updated this weekend (http://www.eteamz.com/RCDestiny/index.cfm?) – I just have to be careful what I post since it’s monitored now <S> (long story…LOLOL).

We have two new players on our roster now, Kari Lynch which is coming over from Rushmore and Katie Bramblee that played with some of you in rec – hopefully we will be able to practice next week and meet.

Ok, here it is….the anticipated begin of the season email with schedules, etc!!  First of all, we would like to welcome Cali Larson, Katie Bramblee and Kari Lynch to Destiny.  I will be sending out an updated contact list with everyone’s information soon.  I will also be sure and include all titles (like COACH, Dan <S>)!

·         First, I need to collect Yankee Candle orders tomorrow!!  I know with the snow that’s coming in tomorrow may pose some problems with getting this done, but I need to collect the orders to get everything totaled up prior to submitting.  I will be in the office tomorrow from 9-2.  If at all possible, can you please drop it off there?  If not, CALL ME and I will meet you somewhere!

·         We were planning on starting practice this week, but we can’t very well practice when there’s snow covering the fields.  We are planning on practicing at the Cambell Challenge fields, however, there may not be enough room, (with all of the Challenge teams there), so we might have to move practices to Fairmont.

·         I have attached a calendar with most of the dates that you need to be aware of.  I listed all of the games, but (as usual) this might be subject to change.  Dan or I will be updating the website soon.

·         Here is a list of possible tournaments that Destiny can travel to.  Please let me know ASAP which tournaments you want to/are able to attend.  Some of the tournament deadlines are coming up and I would like to have a complete list, so I know which ones to register for.

o   May 2 & 3:  Magic City Classic – Billings, WY

o   May 9 & 10:  Snickers Big Horn Cup – Sheridan, WY

Just wanted to remind you of Sunday-R-Funday's tomorrow - this is RCYSL's training session with Coach Brian Pitts (RCYSL's Director of Coaching and South Dakota's Director of Coaching) and one of very few "A" licensed coaches in South Dakota...and as stated before, it's part of your RCYSL fees you have already paid, so take advantage.  Cambell Street soccer fields, 4:00 to 6:00 PM tomorrow.

See you at practice Tuesday 5:30 to 7:00. 

BTW – Flames practice Monday 5:30 to 7:00 Cambell Street fields.  You’re more than welcome to attend…it was funny when both teams gathered up today prior to the 6PM game only to realize everybody knew everyone…LOL…there are some of them that want to come to Destiny’s practices too .

I will need to collect the RCYSL field fees from everyone this week!  The cost is $15 and checks should be made payable to RCYSL.  (Wahl and Lang are paid). 

Also, I have had a few parents pay the $100 that I suggested in an earlier email.  Can I please get everyone else to pay this week?  The registration deadline for the Rushmore tournament is coming up, and I would like to get this account set up before that time.  I will have everyone’s accounts on a spreadsheet and will let you know when and how much I am deducting.  Again, if this is a problem for anyone, please let me know! 

As I said in my earlier email, uniforms are supposed to be in this week.  For those girls that are new, the cost is $40 for jersey, shorts, and socks.  Checks payable to RCYSL.

The following weekend is the Casper Fall Classic tournament – the only two we have as UNABLE to attend is Colette and Abbie – all else is going.  Kelly has sent out the info regarding the hotel, if you miss/or need it again please call/e-mail her.  Sheila and I will have room in our car if anybody needs a ride – probably room for three more.  I encourage all to work together and carpool or room-up together to cut costs.

I have updated the Destiny website (http://www.eteamz.com/RCDestiny/index.cfm) to reflect the change of location of our practices.  If there are too many teams at Cambell I think we will move back over to Fairmont since our practices aren’t till 6PM anyways…we’ll play it by ear for now. 

I have the U14 scheduling meeting tomorrow night, I should have most of our RCYSL schedule then and I will update the Destiny calendar….I’m going to try and keep them to weekends only (the ones we are in town for at least) – so we will just have practices during the week.  Please keep in mind that the final practice prior to a tournament is mandatory (ex: Sept 11^th,  Sept 25^st etc…). 

Still have some more checking to do regarding the Cheyenne Wyoming tournament, according to their website their tournament is rec only – I’m sure we could still attend since we are playing under Rapid City Youth Soccer (recreational league) but I’d want to make sure we at least play in the GU14 age bracket….don’t think GU13 would be much fun (or worth the trip).

Welcome new members; Breanna, Lindsey, Shawnta, Marissa and Lissa – thank you for trying out for Destiny and each one of you are going to be a huge asset to us.

I’m thinking we will take some time off from soccer and start back up around August 18^th.  Planning on having the pre-season team kickoff BBQ August 14^th at the Fairmont soccer fields.  Have the girls wear their black uniform because I want to get some photos of them with ALL their trophies/medals they have won in GU12 – I will bring what I have (which is down at the RCYSL office) – pretty impressive I may add! 

Kelly and I have been looking at tournaments for the fall season, we have the Rushmore Fall Classic end of September, Casper Classic September 13^th & 14^th,  Oct 18^th & 19^th is the Gillette Fall Blast – but one I was thinking is the Jackson Hole (WY) Fall Classic September 26^th & 27^th…..let me know your thoughts on that one.
