  Pitching

1-2-3 Strikes your out!
PitchingPlayerAnimation.gif
At this level of baseball and up from here, the teams that have the most success are the teams with good solid pitching. Yes, you still have to hit the ball to score runs and you still have to catch the ball to get the other team out, but if you do not have solid pitching, it's very difficult to have success. So, one of the first things we try to do is find out who can pitch and start working with them.

A Solid Pitching Philosphy
First!, we want to make the batter swing the bat - The best hitters in the world only get a hit 3 out of 10 times at bat. That means the batter makes an out 7 out of every 10 times at bat... So as a pitcher, the odds are with you if you can throw it over the plate and make the batter swing the bat. One thing that we will always stress to our pitchers is that they do not have to win the game all by themselves. The club has 8 other very talented players out there playing defense to help their pitcher...

So we work on control pitching to throw strikes over the plate and to the catcher's mitt. We do not need all strike outs or a blazing fastball to get outs... What we do need is very few or no walks to win games. MAKE THE BATTER SWING THE BAT!, your defense will make the play.
