RBI INFERNO GOLD & SHAMROCKS BECOME ONE !!!!!!!

A great opportunity was brought before our 16U gold team. An opportunity for some to join the most prestigious name in Virginia Fast Pitch Softball. The Shamrocks, an organization that has been placing young ladies in college programs since 1972. The Shamrocks recognized the talent that the Gold team had assembled. They recognized the level of training that they had received. And most definitely recognized our players abilities on the field.

Inferno 16U is proud to announce our association with an organization so deeply rooted in the history of womens fastpitch softball. The wealth of knowledge that we will draw from the Shamrocks 38 years of experience will help to continue Inferno's growth here in Central Virginia. Please visit our 16U link above for more information.

The Inferno organization has never been stronger, and this is just another notch our evolution. Inferno continues to look for talented young players that want to learn and train at the highest possible level. So they to can reach the goals that our set before them when being a part of this great organization.

If you are the best, or strive to be the best, then please contact us for what could be your chance to be a part of our family.

GO INFERNO!!!!!!!!

All 4 Inferno Teams in SN Halloween Cup Finish Strong

Another great showing for four of the Inferno teams this past weekend in the SN "Halloween Cup". The youngsters of the organization (10U) had another great weekend. Winning four straight and making it to the Gold Championship game on Sunday. There they would finish runner up against a seasoned 2nd year Riptides team. Runner-up out of 11 teams is still an outstanding accomplishment for this brand new team.

The 14U Red would also have a great weekend. Going 4-1 and finishing 5th in the Gold Division, out of the 21 teams entered at the 14U level. This is another new Inferno team that is working hard to keep the winning tradition going.

Our 16U Blue team played three great games Saturday and continued that great play into Sunday morning. Sunday they would go undefeated and win the Silver Division Championship. Dominating the Purple Haze in the Championship game would top off their great weekend.

Last was our 16U Gold Team playing up again at the 18U level. This time they proved that they could play with the best around. Facing Sports Plus once, and the Dixie Chicks twice. None were victories for Inferno, but they new our girls were there to play ball. Overall tournament was very successful for the GOLD. Finishing 3rd in the Gold division out of the nine teams entered.

Congratulations to all the Inferno teams and good luck this coming weekend in Powhatan and Virginia Beach. I'm sure there will be plenty of hardware coming home with you.

14U & 16U Blue Teams Finish Runner Up over the Weekend
16U Blue Fall Finale Runner Up
NSA "Fall Finale" 16U Runner Up

Both Blue teams played this past weekend and each came up one game short of becoming "A" division Champions.

Our 14U Blue traveled to Kinston, NC to compete in the USFA "Trunk or Treat" tournament. It is one of the largest tournaments held each Fall, and this year was no different. With 40 teams competing it would make for some tough competition. Inferno would play 2 pool play games Saturday, winning both. Sunday was a blind draw single elimination. They would start the day early that morning winning easily. Then after a long break would start the march to the championship game. Dominating for the next two games to make it to the championship game undefeated. There facing the OH they would run out of steam. Congratulations to Orion Hunter on their victory. We look forward to seeing you in Powhatan in a couple of weeks.

Next it was the 16U Blue traveling down to Newport News to play in the NSA "Season Fall Finale". Saturday would be a little tough, but the girls played hard. Finishing as the 3 seed would make for a hard road ahead on Sunday. But the ladies came out Sunday ready to go all the way. Starting off against the Carolina Fear that morning and showing them what Fear is all about. Next it was the Semi-Final against a talented Va Lady Aces team. But just as on Saturday they couldn't put a run on the board against our defense. Now on to the Championship Game to meet the Vipers. They jumped on us quick and we just couldn't seem to get the bats alligned to put the runs on the board. Congratulations to the Vipers for giving us a good Championship game.

Great job Inferno Blue's !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Two Inferno Teams Bring Home Gold Championships, One Finishes Gold Runner Up
10U Fall Finale Champions
SN Fall Finale 10U Gold Division Champions

Once again Inferno had another great weekend of softball. The BIG story of the weekend was our youngest team. The 10U Inferno had an outstanding second tournament of the Fall. Out of the 9 teams entered, they went 5-2 and finished Gold Division Champions of the SN Fall Finale. What an awesome accomplishment for a brand new 10U team in their first season together.

Great job 10U!!!!!!

Then it was on to a rain shortened one day marathon NSA Last Blast Classic tournament. Our 13U and 16U Gold teams would make to the championship by toughing out the longest day of softball I can remember in recent times. The 13U played their first game at 8:00am and their last at around 9:30pm. They would go 4-1 and finish Runner up. Special Note: Out of the 10 teams entered, the final two were true 13U teams. Way to go 13U!!!!!!!

The 16U Gold would start the day off a little slow. Falling to a tough 16U Edge team 4-3, but from there they would never look back. They would once again see the Edge and play another tough game in the Semi Final. After that great defensive battle against the Edge, we would play the Championship game and come out Gold Champions once again.

Congrats to all the Inferno teams on another great weekend of ball!!!!!

Katie Smith -- 2010 Scholarship Winner -- NSA 6th Annual Hampton Roads Challenge (Scholarship)

Dear Frank,

Just wanted to thank you for the generous scholarship that Katie was fortunate enough to receive. She is very excited and has already…..at 14…..begun to narrow her list of Universities she is interested in. Many times we are so busy focusing on the sport of softball that we forget that it’s truly about educating and developing our youth.  Softball allows them to have tons of fun, be physically active, learn about teamwork, and gain valuable life skills for the future. What a cool thing!

Thanks for all that you do to promote Youth Fast-Pitch Softball! We greatly appreciate your efforts!

Chris Smith

Big Story of the Weekend "14U Inferno Blue Shuts out 16U Edge in Championship Game"
2010 Indian Summer Blast Runner Up
14U NSA "Indian Summer Blast" Runner Up

What another great weekend of Inferno Softball. We'll start by congratulating this past weekends big winner. The 14U Inferno Blue once again finished as Champions playing up at the 16U level. They traveled to Charlottesville and competed in the NSA "Indian Summer Blast". There they would lose their first game on Saturday, and never look back. Sunday was the day they would lay it all on the line. First defeating the 16U Rampage, then the 16U Strike Force, and last the 16U Edge in the Championship game. Way to show the competition who brings the heat.

Our 13U team would also start Saturday a little slow in Charlottesville, and go 1-2 for the day. But in Inferno style, they would turn up the heat on Sunday. Winning three straight games to make it to the Championship. There they would face a tough Va Crushers team, and lose in a hard fought battle all the way to the end. Still another awesome weekend for this young team.

Next our 18U team traveled to Newport News to play in SN "Fall Fast Pitch Championship". There they would have one of the their best showings to date of the fall. The Championship game would only go 1 inning and be called due to the rain. Based only on runs allowed during the tournament, they would finish Runner Up to the Va Bat Busters.  Congratulations ladies.

And last the 16U Gold team started their showcase schedule in the USSSA "12th Annual Fall Scholastic Showcase". They showed well, playing some decent competition from MD, VA, and PA. Playing three 18U teams, one 2nd year 16, and only losing one of the four games. Look for even better things to come when this team is back at full force.

Once again, great job this weekend to all the Inferno teams competing.

Next our 16U Blue team traveled to Newport News to compete in the NSA "Peninsula Scramble" There they would start their Fall season with great results. Playing some incredible games, and going into extra innings ITB in at least two of those games. The Championship game was no different. It also went ITB for 3 innings and Inferno would finish Runner-up. It was still a great finish for a team that has worked so hard. Great job Ladies!!!!!!!

Last it would be our 18U team traveling to Roanoke to compete in the NSA "Play the Valley Fall Showcase". There they faced some good teams and showed very well. Inferno finished 5th out of the 24 teams entered. This was a great start for our first ever 18U team. Keep up the hard work!!!!!!!

INFERNO TRYOUTS A HUGE SUCCESS

Inferno tryouts are finally complete. This year brought our largest turnout ever along with some of the best talent in the area. With over 140 total players trying out, we were able to once again field what will be some of the best teams in the state and beyond. A big testiment to our success is the fact that out 4 out of the 5 existing Inferno teams had every player return to tryout for their team.

We want to thank all of the Coaches, Parents, Players, and Fans for once again making the Inferno tryouts a huge success. It couldn't be done without all of your help and dedication.

Inferno Teams Continue to Show Strong
2010 Com.Games corrected.jpg
2010 NSA "Commonwealth Games" 16U "A" Silver Medalists

For the past two weekends Inferno teams have proved they can play with anyone. 10U, 13U Blue, 14U Gold, & 16U Red have all placed at or near the top in each of their tournaments.

Of course our 10U team once again has gone undefeated. This past weekend it was in the SN Nitty Gritty. This team is now headed out to Charlotte for the NSA "A" World Series. The competition better be on the lookout when this young team rolls into town.

Next our 13U team continues to put on a show against anyone who steps on the field. They went 4-1 in the NSA World Series Warm-up and fell to the eventual champions, Yorktown Revolution. They head off to Chatanooga for the NSA "B" World Series. This year they are going as the defending Champions of the 12U NSA World Series last year in Salem. If you listen you can hear the chant of "REPEAT" in the Championship game now.

Our 16U Red is really putting some good victories under their belt. They have just finished the past two Softball Nation tournaments as Runner up in the Gold division. Look for more to come from this tallented group of players and coaches as they make their move to 18U this Fall. They will be competing in the SN Fast Pitch Nationals this coming weekend. We all wish them the best as they will represent Inferno in a very tough field of 16U teams.

And last, our 14U Gold team continues to put on a show. This weekend at the Commonwealth Games in Roanoke they once again played up at the 16U level. As local College coaches watched, the youngsters of the field of teams did what they do best, Win. Going 3-0 in pool play put them in the "A" division in elimination play. They would continue to win in some incredible games and make it to the big game. There they would fall to the Virginia Renegades in a 7 inning, 1-0 game. They came home as the Silver Medalist of the 16U "A" National Division. They will be also headed to Charlotte to participate in the NSA "A" World Series. Competition beware!!!!!!!!!

From all of us at Inferno. We wish all teams from around the state headed out to World Series & National events the best of luck. Always remember, Win or lose, it is a special time of year for all of the young ladies that play the sport they all love and enjoy. Make it a memory they will never forget.

10U & 13U Teams Finish Strong at NSA States
14U NSA

Congratulations to both of these young teams for having a great showing this past weekend at the NSA States.

Our 10U team started the tournament strong going undefeated on Saturday. On Sunday the competition got tougher and though the team fought hard to the end, 3rd place is where they would finish. Great job for the youngest of Inferno girls.

The 13U team would dominate the "B" bracket, going undefeated for the entire tournament. Doing it the way they know best, shutting out the competition in every game.

Outstanding weekend Inferno!!!

Monday, June 14
16U Red & 14U Gold Finish Strong

Congratulations to both the Inferno 16U Red & 14U Gold for finishing strong this past weekend in each of their tournaments.

The 16U Red played some great ball this past weekend Softball Nation Rock & Fire tournament. Going 2-1 in pool play would place them as the #2 seed going into Sunday's elimination play. They would first defeat the Vixens & Va. Lady Eagles sending them down to the Silver bracket. This put them in the Championship Game in the Gold bracket. It was Inferno vs. Rampage and it was sure to be a great game. Inferno would score first and hold Rampage with great pitching and defense. But in the 7th Rampage would scratch back and score 2 ending the game 2-1 Rampage. Great job by both teams in what I'm sure was an exciting game.

Next it was off to Lynchburg where the 14U Gold would compete in the 14U "A" ASA state tournament. Eight teams from all around the state came together in what would prove Inferno's toughest challenge of the season. In the end it was all we could ask for. Final three teams standing, Shamrocks, Vienna Stars, & RBI Inferno Gold. We would fall to both, but they both know we were there. Hats off to the Shamrocks for finishing Champions, and to the Stars for giving us the most exciting game of the weekend. More details on www.rbiinfernogold.com

14U Gold Wins 16U "A" Bracket-2010 NSA Crowne Plaza Invitational

Congratulations to all the teams that played this past weekend in the largest tournament held in Virginia this 2010 season. It was HOT, humid, Windy, and best of all were the sand storms. But as usual, Frank Rachubka, his assistants, and umpires pulled off another great tournament.

The 13U Blue played in the 14U "B" going 7-0 on the weekend and battling hard with the 13U Hanover X-treme in the Championship Game. Tied at the bottom of the 7th, Inferno scored and graciously accepted their hardware. Nothing but more great things to come from this young team.

Next it was the 14U Gold playing up in the 16U "A" bracket. In there 2nd 16U tournament in a row, and with the competition stronger than the previous weekend, the ladies would once again prove themselves. Going 2-0-1 in Saturday's pool play and then 3-0 on Sunday. The Championship game came down to the two best teams there, Inferno vs. Legends. Both out of the same pool, had tied on saturday, and both 14U. It was a great way to end the weekend.

Hat's off to all the teams that played this weekend.

Inferno 10U & 14U Join Together to Fight for a Cure

Both the 10U & 14U Gold teams traveled to Newport News to play in a special tournament this past Mother's Day weekend. For the past 5 years Frank Rachubka has been hosting this tournament to help raise money to fight breast cancer. This year according to Frank, the tournament raised over $2500.00 to help the fight for a cure. Inferno wants to thank Frank, NSA and all the teams that joined together this weekend to help "Fight For A Cure"

Our 10U team had another great weekend of ball. Going 5-1, and losing a heartbreaker championship game against the Riptides. Final score after 7 innings, 2-1.

The 14U Gold had another stellar performance going 5-0-1. Finishing Champions out of the 14 teams in thier age bracket. Facing the Va. Lady Eagles and playing a good championship game to bring home the Gold. Final Score 5-3.

Once again the Inferno puts on a show for it's fans & competition. Both the 10U & 14U Gold finished as undefeated champions this past weekend. Our 12U team would finish 3rd with another respective showing. After a 2 hour rain delay on Saturday the games began. Fields still a little slippery & soft the teams took the field.

The 10U would play in a double elimination, 7 team tournament and never fall to anyone. Congratulations to our youngest group of ladies and their coaches for another great weekend of Inferno softball.

The 12U also played in a 7 team double elimination tournament. Going 1-1 in pool play and then winning the next 2 elimination games on Saturday. Sunday they fell in to the losers bracket in a close game and couldn't battle out. They would finish as the sole 3rd place team out of the 7 teams.

The 14U Gold would put on both a defensive and offensive show all weekend. They went 7-0 for the weekend and faced the KW Bobcats in the Championship game. Inferno would shut down the Bobcat's bats, just as they did in pool play, with incredible pitching and defense. And put plenty of runs on the board to defeat them both days.

Congratulations again to all the teams that played this past weekend. I also want to thank Allan Spencer and NSA for hosting another great tournament.

I can't say it enough. WAY TO GO INFERNO!!!!!!!

Next, our 13U traveled to Dunn, NC to compete in the NCUSFA Spring Break Tournament. It was two warm up games into a blind draw, double elimination tournament. Once into elimination play the competition only got stronger. Going 3-2 in elimination play, and finishing runner up to the Big Bats of the Wayne County Hurricanes was the way it would finish. Final score Hurricanes 9, Inferno 6. Make sure to take a good look at the picture of these two teams. Ti never looked so small before.

The 14U Gold traveled to Vienna to play at the Pony "Cherry Blossom" tournament. Teams from Virginia, Maryland, & Delaware would come together to compete in what would be the most challenging tournament of this season. Every game was a close battle to the end. INFERNO TEAMS START OFF THE SPRING SEASON ON TOP

Congratulations to the 13U & 14U teams for bringing home the Championship trophies in their tournaments.

First the 13U traveled north to Muncy PA to compete in an indoor tournament in "THE DOME" at Generations Sports Complex. It was the USSSA "MIDNIGHT MADNESS" tournament that began at 10:00pm Saturday and ended sometime around 9:00am Sunday morning. From everything I've heard, it was an experience they all will never forget. A double elimination tournament straight through the night. And when the chips were down, the 13U turned on the heat as only they can do. Congratulations again ladies for representing Inferno in fine fashion.

Next it was the New 14U Gold team making it's tournament debut playing up at the 16U age bracket. It was the 16U Montgomery County Shock from PA, the 16U Vipers from Spotsylvania, the 16U Skyliners from Suffolk, and the 14U Gold Inferno based out of Chesterfield that came together for a one day showdown. Inferno's offense started a little slow, but soon turned on the steam. Outscoring the opponents in 4 games 25-4. Our defense was stout, offense was strong, and pitching stellar (40 strikeouts) as we were the undefeated champions of the Pony "ICEBREAKER". Congratulations to this fine group of ladies. It goes to show you that change is sometimes a good thing.

RBI INFERNO 16U RED -- END OF SEASON SHOWSTOPPER CHAMPIONS!!!!!!

WOW, what a way for the RBI Inferno 16U Red to end their Fall 09 Season. This group of young ladies came together the 1st of September and have worked hard all Fall to show what they are truly capable of delivering on the field. It all came together this weekend in Hampton VA's Softball Nations End of Season Showstopper. They played great ball against some very tough and well coached teams going 5 and 0 for the weekend with a win over Orion Hunter in the Championship Game 2---0. This team has played very good defense the entire Fall season and that continued this past weekend allow only 5 runs while scoring 29. The coaching staff is very proud of your Fall accomplishments, your hard work and dedication definitely showed this weekend. Enjoy your Christmas Break, winter workouts began Jan. 2010. Can't wait to put this show back on the field for the Summer 2010 Season.

RBI Inferno 12U Elite Finish Runner Up at WFC Battle of the Beach in Myrtle Beach, SC

The 12U Elite made it's final 2009 stand in what would be it's toughest test of the year. Traveling south of the border to Myrtle Beach was what this top level team had been waiting for all year. They would face the toughest teams they had seen all season. Teams came from Virginia, NC, SC, & Georgia to compete at the highest level of 12U fastpitch softball.

Inferno dominated in pool play and through the first couple of games in elimination. As the field narrowed going into Sunday, the competition got stiffer. Making it to the final round in the winner's bracket, we would face a very strong Tanel 360 Black team out of southern Georgia. The game was a defensive dual for sure. Going a full 7 innings with no score and headed into ITB, we knew we had finally met our equal. After two innings of ITB, Tanel scored a run and that's all it would take. Great game, but they knew they would see us again real soon.

Now in the loosers bracket, it was The Fire 97 out of South Carolina. They were a year younger, but it sure didn't show. They put up a much better battle than they did on Saturday, but we were just too strong. Now it was the rematch we had been anticipating. We would have to defeat the Tanel 360 team twice to take home the gold, but we knew we had the talent to do just that.

The game was another defensive battle through 7 innings, and sure enough a 1-1 tie and headed to ITB. It would last another 4 innings. First we scored two, then they would match it. Then again, we scored another two and they countered it. Finally in the 11th, the winning run came across the plate for the Tanel team and it was over. What a game!!!!!!!!!!!!

Both of these top teams traveled 6 hours from the south and from the north to meet in what was the most memorable game of our season. Congratulations to the Tanel team. They are the strongest batting 12U team I've ever seen and they will do awesome at 14U next season.

And a huge congratulations to the players, parents, & coaches of the Inferno. You all have made 2009 something for this organization to be real proud of. As rising 13U players, it's going to be a tough year in 2010 for your competition.

GO INFERNO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There's a special story behind the picture below. The players below had never met each other until this day. They formed a bond on the field like I have never seen before and may never again. This young lady (stud catcher & batter) from the Tanel team came to our pitcher after the game. She asked her to sign a game ball she had hit over the 200' fence in a previous game against another team. She said to our pitcher in that wonderful Georgia accent. "I want your autograph because you'll be famous one day, and I might be able to sell this ball on e-bay" That statement brought a smile and a tear to a wonderful young lady, our pitcher. I personally will never forget this past weekend and I'm sure there are many others from Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and I know Virginia that share the same feeling.

All I can say is UNBELIEVABLE....

14U Inferno Gold Finishes Runner Up in USFA Halloween Bash in Kinston, NC

The ladies of the Inferno 14U Gold traveled south this past weekend to East Carolina to play in the largest tournament of the fall. USFA had 40 teams playing at the 14U age level and that was just what Inferno was looking for. Lots of teams and some good competition. Saturday's pool play was fun, but meant nothing but some warm-up games for Sunday. Sunday's elimination was pre-determined by a blind draw that was done before we even arrived. Lucky us, we had an 8:00 Sunday start while the more fortunate slept till noon. That's OK, the ladies fought hard all day winning a nail biter semi-final against a big Carolina Lookouts team 1-0. Then it was on to the championship game against the Hurricanes.

All I can say is it was an offensive battle the entire way. The Hurricanes can hit and hit they did. Back and forth the lead changed until time expired and we fell short. 7-6 final score. The Hurricanes are a classy group with some of the nicest players we have ever faced. We thank them for a great Championship game and hope to see them in the future.

Great job this weekend ladies!!!!!!!!!!

The 13U went 5-1 and defeated the 13U Hanover X-treme 7-2 in the Championship game of the Pony Fall Classic. Fall Brawl-14U Gold Runner Up Team
14U - GOLD RUNNER UP

WOW, what a way for the Inferno Teams to officially kick off the Fall Season. Five Inferno teams played some awesome softball this weekend with four coming away with some nice hardware.

A huge congratulations to the 13U Blue for finishing Champions of the 14U age group. They were the dominate team as usual, going 4-2 and knocking off both the 14U Edge teams. First defeating the 14U edge in the semi-final 6-0 and then moving on to defeat the younger Edge in the Championship by a score of 16-7. I personally am very proud to have this team in our organization. Great coaches, great parents, and best of all awesome young players.

Next it was our 14U gold team playing up at the 16U level. These girls turned on the Inferno Heat as usual. Going 5-1 for the weekend and finishing 2nd place in the Gold division. Congratulations to the Richmond Speed on their victory. They gave us a great Championship game.

Also, congratulations to our 16U Red team for finishing 2nd in the Silver. They played some awesome ball both days. Defense was awesome, giving up very few runs. They just couldn't put runs on the board to win some very, very close games. Look out for them when the bats come alive.

Will still have one more to congratulate. Our 10U team went 4-1 and lost in the Semi-Final to a rising 12U team playing down in the Fall. They placed 3rd and soon will be at the top again.

GREAT JOB TO ALL OF THE INFERNO LADIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rising 12U NSA World Series Champions make their 13U debut in style *****CHAMPIONS*****
Labor Day Scramble Champions

The rising RBI Inferno Blue begins their 2009 fall 13U season in style. Going into the SN Labor Day Scramble as the youngsters of the field, they showed why talent not age maters. They had a little help, very little, from their older sisters on the 14U. Going 5-1 for the weekend, Inferno first knocked off the Hanover X-treme 14U, not once, but twice. We appreciate the great competition they offered.

In the Championship game the competition got tougher. Now facing the Bobcats, who had been undeafeated in 14 straight games. They would first fall to Inferno on Sunday mornings pool play game. Then it was the rematch in the Final game.

The Championship game started as a defensive battle, but soon Inferno's offense turned on the heat and scored first. From that point on, Inferno continued to score and their defense held the Bobcat's offense at bay. Final score Inferno 4, Bobcat's 0. Hats off to the class act 14U Bobcat's. They gave the 13U Inferno a good look at what 14U softball is all about.

AS ALWAYS,

Inferno Teams visit Longwood Softball

20+ Players and Parents from the Inferno Family spend a sunny cool day at Longwood University. Some arrived at the 10:00 game between Longwood & St. Johns and got to see Longwood turn on the offense and come back from an 0-1 score to finish 2-1 in victory. Then it was Bucknell vs. St. Johns and as Bucknell battled, the Red Storm was too much for them and finished strong with a 5-0 vicotry. Finishing out our day it was the Lancers turn to play Bobcats of Quinnipiac University. The game stayed close the entire time and finished with the Longwood Lancers on top 1-0.

All of the players had a great time watching the games wrapped up in blankets. After the game they enjoyed talking with the players from Longwood. And had a chance to ask questions and just get a feel of what it was like to be playing ball for a college team.

Thank you to both Coach Kathy Riley, Coach Kayla Miller, and all of the Players for making our trip a memorable one.

12U RBI INFERNO ELITE #1 IN THE STATE

OK, Where do I start. I know, WAY TO GO INERNO ELITE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations to the young ladies of the 12U Inferno Elite. Once again you proved you are the best 12U team in the State. It started by defeating the NSA State Champions on Saturday and then eliminating the NSA State Runner ups on Sunday. Both of these games were tough battles, but Inferno did their job and were victorious.

Sunday the players, parents, and coaches waited to see who they would face in the championship. Orion Hunter vs. Yorktown Revolution... Orion Hunter jumped on the Revolution fast and furious, never looking back. They were on a mission, a re-match of the Cabin Fever Championship Game in March between Inferno and them.

The teams were set for the Championship. It would be Orion Hunter vs. RBI Inferno. It was a battle for 7 innings, momentum going from one side to the other as both team made incredible plays. Both teams fought hard all the way to the end. Orion led Inferno going in to the bottom of the 7th, 2-1. But our girls new they had one more chance. We were back at the top of our order, exactly where we wanted to be. With a lead off walk, the tieing run was on 1st. Then with 2 strikes, #2 batter lays down a perfectly executed bunt. Now with runners at first and second the third batter lays another perfect bunt down, bases loaded and no outs. Cleanup hitter up to bat and on a 3-2 count draws a walk, game tied. Batter #5 swings away at the first pitch and drives in the winning run, the rest is History.

I also want to say how awesome the players, coaches, parents & fans are from the Orion Hunter team. We couldn't have wished to play a more class act team than them.

INFERNO TEAMS CHAMPIONS ONCE AGAIN

Once again we get to Congratulate both the 10U & the 12U Inferno Elite. Both teams finished as Champions in their first tournaments of 2009. The hard work both teams put in indoors for the past 2+ months paid off.

First, the young 10U team went 3-0 in a one day Pony tournament in hopewell. Showing that talent has nothing to do with age. Way to go 10U!!!!!!!!!

Second, the 12U RBI Inferno Elite traveled to one of the largest tournaments of the Spring. The top teams from NC, MD, & VA came to participate in the most competitive tournament being held in March. The Inferno Elite, which had not even practiced together since the Fall, went 6-0 and rang up a total of 44 runs while only allowing 8. Never once falling behind their opponent, hitting and running the bases like no one has seen before. The defense was incredible, making ESPN replay type plays all weekend. Please visit the link above as more on this tournament will be posted soon on the 12U Elite site.

Once again, CONGRATULATIONS to both of these great teams.

Inferno Teams Finish Strong in Chesterfield Classic

Congratulations to both the 12U Blue and the 13U Gold for their strong finishes in the Chesterfield Classic Tournament.

The 12U Blue had a great first tournament of the season, going 4-2-1 and finishing 3rd out of the 13 teams that had traveled to play in Chesterfield. Leading their Semi-Final game early, but coming up short at the end of the game. This team will continue to do very well throughout the rest of the season.

The 13U Gold had a great weekend as they also played their first tournament of the long 2009 season. They went 5-2, scoring 57 and only allowing 22 runs for the tournament. Going into the Gold Championship game as the underdog, they were able to lead the game for 5 innings, but couldn't hold it till the end. We were so proud of how this team fought to the finish. Finishing 2nd out of 18 teams was an outstanding performance by this young team.

Please check individual team websites for more info on this great first tournament of 2009.

Inferno 10U Finishes Runner Up in SN tournament held in Charlottesville

We are so proud of how our youngest team we've ever fielded is playing this fall. Congratulations to the Head Coach Daniel Spencer, his assistants and especially the young ladies of the Inferno 10U team. The Coaches, Parents and the Fans are in awe of just how well this first year 10U team has competed. Going 3-0 on Saturday in what was described as some of the best 10U ball they had played to date. They then turned around on Sunday and went all the way to the Championship game and fell short. Playing a 2nd year 10U team, that has to move to 12U come Spring, the Inferno held there own. This older 1OU team will soon meet our 2nd year 12U team. The great thing for the 10U Inferno is they will be playing 10U in the Spring. They bad thing for their competition is that the Inferno 10U will be playing 10U in the Spring.

INFERNO 13U WINS SILVER CHAMPIONSHIP 2 WEEKENDS IN A ROW

Once again the Inferno has won the Silver division championship. Going 0-2 in pool play on a rainy Saturday, they came out on Sunday and did everything they needed to do to win. All I can say is "What another great defensive, and this weekend an offensive Sunday". They faced the West End Wrath in what we knew would be a tough battle, and it proved just that. They scored first and then we went ahead and were able to hold them til the end. This weeked proved good for everyone in our pool play bracket. All four of the teams finished 1st or 2nd in both the Gold and the Silver.

RBI Inferno 12U Elite Wins Gold Division Championship!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Once again the Inferno shows the competition just why they're #1. Going 2-0 in pool play on Sunday and only giving up 1 run placed them 1st out of the 10 teams competing. Seeding #1 gave them a bye in the GOLD DIVISION as they waited to play the winner of the Blazin Stars vs. Hanover Extreme. The Stars, who had earlier tied the Titans 2-2, gave up 6 runs the first inning against the Extreme. The Extreme was able to hold on and secure their chance at the Inferno. Once again the Inferno's defense was unbeatable and their bats did what they needed to do to come out on top. Winning the game 5-0 they showed the competition just what they are made of. Only giving up 1 run in 3 games is something to be extremely proud of, not to mention the being the GOLD DIVISION CHAMPIONS.

Inferno Teams Finish Extremely Well in the NSA Fall Frenzy & Pony Tournament

What a great weekend for all of the Inferno teams. Once again this young organization proves that we have some of the top players at all age levels.

  • First of all congratulations to the all new 16U Inferno team coached by Barry Lenhart. As a newly formed team they showed the competition that they will be around for the long haul.
  • Second, Once again the 13U team has competed in a 17 team tournament and this time stepped it up another notch. Finishing 3rd in a 0-1 loss that went into 8 innings. What an incredible defensive battle.
  • Third, Our youngest team formed completely from scratch at tryouts in August finish 2nd at the Pony tournament. They went into ITB and also came up one run short. Head coach Daniel Spencer has much to be proud of with this young team.
  • And we save the best for last. Darrin Dixon's 12U team goes 6-1 and wins the 2008 NSA Fall Frenzy. What a game, it came down to the wire and as we all knew the Inferno would be victorious. This team, it's parents, and coaches will have alot to be proud of in the upcoming 08-09 season.

UNBELIEVEABLE...................That's about the best way to sum up the Nationals for this awesome team of young ladies. We came to the Nationals ready to finish the season on top, and that's what we did. The girls played nearly flawless ball from Friday afternoon all the way to the Championship game on Sunday. Going 6-0 and never letting up on the competition. They ended 5 out of 6 games based on the run rule, scoring 60 runs and only allowing 3. The fans, umpires, and competition could not believe how our ladies were hitting the ball. Defense & Pitching was also out of this world. All I can say is "What a way to end your 12U season".

Look out 14U, here we come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

12U Gold Takes Home Silver Championship in Queen of the Hill

The ladies of the 12U Inferno Gold played some of their best ball this weekend, bringing home the Silver division championship and giving the Gold division Champions their only loss of the weekend. They went 5-4 and lost a couple of tight games that came down to the wire. The bats really came to life on Saturday morning and we seemed unstoppable. The defense was almost flawless all weekend and we showed the best teams there what we were made of. Going 3-1 in our first four games of pool play, the girls new they had to win the next two or be placed in the silver division from the start. It just so happened the next two pool play games were against teams that had not lost a game and were both 5-0.

First we had the Manassas Blaze and it was a close game down to the end. Our girls played an amazing game and came out on top with a score of 3-2. Next we had the Legends who had been destroying the competition all weekend. Boy were they in for a big surprise. We came out and pounded the ball and before they new what had happened the game was over 9-0 under the mercy rule.

All the coaches and I want to say just how proud we were of these fine young ladies and what they accomplished this past weekend.

12U Gold Win Silver Division Championship in Softball Nation Dirty Dozens

Congratulations to the 12U Inferno Gold team for having a great showing this weekend. Going 2-1 on Saturday and playing an incredible game against the Gold division champion Northern Neck Rage. After the smoke had cleared at the end of the day we were in a three way tie and fell short ending up in the Silver.

Sunday the girls came out ready for a long day and faced the Raptors who fought us hard to the end. Then after a long break we came out with the bats on fire and sent many a ball to the fence. Sunday we went 3-0 and were awarded the Silver Division Championship Plaque. The coach's and I couldn't be prouder of how the girls played and the respect they showed to the teams they faced.

2007 All-American Christmas Pitchfest
All American Pitching Camp
16U Players & Instructors

The Christmas Pitchfest hosted by Virginia's premier pitching intstructor, Kerri Cobb, was a big success. It was also a success for Inferno players with 8 out of the 30 participants being from the Inferno organization. The camp was instructed by well known statewide pitching instructor Bobby Wills, Virginia Tech's Senior pitcher Angela Tincher and USC's top ranked utility player, Ashton Payne. Bobby brought many years of fastpitch instruction and his own experiences as a fastpitch pitcher. Angela demonstrated and taught her techniques as one of the countries top college pitchers. Ashton spent time speaking to the players about what it takes to get to college as a student athelete and what is expected of you after you get there.

The Inferno players, parents and I want to thank Kerri and all of her help for putting on another great camp.

12U Finishes 5th Place in 2007 NSA World Series
2007 World Series Team Picture
Congratulations girls for finishing 5th out of 33 teams in the 2007 NSA World Series. Going 4-3 for the series and proving that determination and hard work pay off. I couldn't have been prouder as we went on a 4 game winning streak and played the toughest competition in the tournament. Everyone in our 4 team bracket made it to the top 8 and the Cyclones, which we defeated on Tuesday, made it to the championship and finished second. This shows that we have come a long way since tryouts on December 29th.

10U & 12U come together to finish 2nd in NSA Heatwave

Congratulations to the ladies that played for our 12U Blue team Coach's in the NSA Heatwave. A mixture of young players (majority 10U) that came together and proved that age means nothing. You played two great games in the Championship round against established 12u teams. First beating the #1 seeded Delaware Diamonds in ITB and then giving the Louisa Thunder a tough fight to the end. You and your Coaches have something to be very proud of.

12U Gold Finishes Runner Up in the Pony "Ham Slam"
HamSlam_2ndPlace

What a great weekend for the players, coach's and fans that were in Smithfield to be apart of the "Ham Slam" tournament. The 12U Gold went 3-0 on Saturday finishing #1 seed in their bracket and drew a tough game right off the bat on Sunday. Facing one of the favorites (Yorktown Revolution) we showed that we were there to go all the way. Winning a very exciting game 5-2 and sending us to the final four. The semi-final game might have well been the championship game. The only two teams left undefeated were us and the Sterling Baseliners and it proved to be just what we expected. We started strong scoring 2 right off the bat and then held them to 2 runs through out the rest of the game. With 3 minutes left, we scored once more and held them as time ran out. Winning against a great team 3-2, then it was on to face Orion Hunter. They got on top quick and were able to hold us off.

It was a great weekend and we are so proud of how far this young team has come in just a short time.

GO INFERNO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
