10U, 12U-Elite, & 16U Teams Finish 2009 Seasons Real Strong

RBI Inferno 12U Elite Finish Runner Up at WFC Battle of the Beach in Myrtle Beach, SC
The 12U Elite made it's final 2009 stand in what would be it's toughest test of the year. Traveling south of the border to Myrtle Beach was what this top level team had been waiting for all year. They would face the toughest teams they had seen all season. Teams came from Virginia, NC, SC, & Georgia to compete at the highest level of 12U fastpitch softball. Inferno dominated in pool play and through the first couple of games in elimination. As the field narrowed going into Sunday, the competition got stiffer. Making it to the final round in the winner's bracket, we would face a very strong Tanel 360 Black team out of southern Georgia. The game was a defensive dual for sure. Going a full 7 innings with no score and headed into ITB, we knew we had finally met our equal. After two innings of ITB, Tanel scored a run and that's all it would take. Great game, but they knew they would see us again real soon. Now in the loosers bracket, it was The Fire 97 out of South Carolina. They were a year younger, but it sure didn't show. They put up a much better battle than they did on Saturday, but we were just too strong. Now it was the rematch we had been anticipating. We would have to defeat the Tanel 360 team twice to take home the gold, but we knew we had the talent to do just that. The game was another defensive battle through 7 innings, and sure enough a 1-1 tie and headed to ITB. It would last another 4 innings. First we scored two, then they would match it. Then again, we scored another two and they countered it. Finally in the 11th, the winning run came across the plate for the Tanel team and it was over. What a game!!!!!!!!!!!! Both of these top teams traveled 6 hours from the south and from the north to meet in what was the most memorable game of our season. Congratulations to the Tanel team. They are the strongest batting 12U team I've ever seen and they will do awesome at 14U next season. And a huge congratulations to the players, parents, & coaches of the Inferno. You all have made 2009 something for this organization to be real proud of. As rising 13U players, it's going to be a tough year in 2010 for your competition. GO INFERNO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There's a special story behind the picture below. The players below had never met each other until this day. They formed a bond on the field like I have never seen before and may never again. This young lady (stud catcher & batter) from the Tanel team came to our pitcher after the game. She asked her to sign a game ball she had hit over the 200' fence in a previous game against another team. She said to our pitcher in that wonderful Georgia accent. "I want your autograph because you'll be famous one day, and I might be able to sell this ball on e-bay" That statement brought a smile and a tear to a wonderful young lady, our pitcher. I personally will never forget this past weekend and I'm sure there are many others from Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and I know Virginia that share the same feeling. All I can say is UNBELIEVABLE.... Coach Ken

16U RED --- UNDEFEATED CHAMPS OF THE SN END OF SEASON SHOWSTOPPER
WOW, what a way for the RBI Inferno 16U Red to end their Fall 09 Season. This group of young ladies came together the 1st of September and have worked hard all Fall to show what they are truly capable of delivering on the field. It all came together this weekend in Hampton VA's Softball Nations End of Season Showstopper. They played great ball against some very tough and well coached teams going 5 and 0 for the weekend with a win over Orion Hunter in the Championship Game 2---0. This team has played very good defense the entire Fall season and that continued this past weekend allow only 5 runs while scoring 29. The coaching staff is very proud of your Fall accomplishments, your hard work and dedication definitely showed this weekend. Enjoy your Christmas Break, winter workouts began Jan. 2010. Can't wait to put this show back on the field for the Summer 2010 Season.

14U INFERNO GOLD FINISHES 2009 FALL SEASON IN STYLE
It's real simple. Score 49 runs, allow 4, and what do you get? "2009 NSA FALL CLASSIC 14U CHAMPIONS" This is exactly what the doctor ordered for the official finally of the 14U Gold's 2009 season. The ladies played some awesome ball, going 7-0 for the weekend and defeating the Yorktown Revolution 7-1 to bring home the GOLD. See the 14U home page for more details. WAY TO GO INFERNO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
14U Inferno Gold Finishes Runner Up in USFA Halloween Bash in Kinston, NC
The ladies of the Inferno 14U Gold traveled south this past weekend to East Carolina to play in the largest tournament of the fall. USFA had 40 teams playing at the 14U age level and that was just what Inferno was looking for. Lots of teams and some good competition. Saturday's pool play was fun, but meant nothing but some warm-up games for Sunday. Sunday's elimination was pre-determined by a blind draw that was done before we even arrived. Lucky us, we had an 8:00 Sunday start while the more fortunate slept till noon. That's OK, the ladies fought hard all day winning a nail biter semi-final against a big Carolina Lookouts team 1-0. Then it was on to the championship game against the Hurricanes. All I can say is it was an offensive battle the entire way. The Hurricanes can hit and hit they did. Back and forth the lead changed until time expired and we fell short. 7-6 final score. The Hurricanes are a classy group with some of the nicest players we have ever faced. We thank them for a great Championship game and hope to see them in the future. Great job this weekend ladies!!!!!!!!!!

INFERNO TEAMS FINISH STRONG IN NSA FAWL BRAWL
WOW, what a way for the Inferno Teams to officially kick off the Fall Season. Five Inferno teams played some awesome softball this weekend with four coming away with some nice hardware. A huge congratulations to the 13U Blue for finishing Champions of the 14U age group. They were the dominate team as usual, going 4-2 and knocking off both the 14U Edge teams. First defeating the 14U edge in the semi-final 6-0 and then moving on to defeat the younger Edge in the Championship by a score of 16-7. I personally am very proud to have this team in our organization. Great coaches, great parents, and best of all awesome young players. Next it was our 14U gold team playing up at the 16U level. These girls turned on the Inferno Heat as usual. Going 5-1 for the weekend and finishing 2nd place in the Gold division. Congratulations to the Richmond Speed on their victory. They gave us a great Championship game. Also, congratulations to our 16U Red team for finishing 2nd in the Silver. They played some awesome ball both days. Defense was awesome, giving up very few runs. They just couldn't put runs on the board to win some very, very close games. Look out for them when the bats come alive. Will still have one more to congratulate. Our 10U team went 4-1 and lost in the Semi-Final to a rising 12U team playing down in the Fall. They placed 3rd and soon will be at the top again. GREAT JOB TO ALL OF THE INFERNO LADIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rising 12U NSA World Series Champions make their 13U debut in style *****CHAMPIONS*****
The rising RBI Inferno Blue begins their 2009 fall 13U season in style. Going into the SN Labor Day Scramble as the youngsters of the field, they showed why talent not age maters. They had a little help, very little, from their older sisters on the 14U. Going 5-1 for the weekend, Inferno first knocked off the Hanover X-treme 14U, not once, but twice. We appreciate the great competition they offered. In the Championship game the competition got tougher. Now facing the Bobcats, who had been undeafeated in 14 straight games. They would first fall to Inferno on Sunday mornings pool play game. Then it was the rematch in the Final game. The Championship game started as a defensive battle, but soon Inferno's offense turned on the heat and scored first. From that point on, Inferno continued to score and their defense held the Bobcat's offense at bay. Final score Inferno 4, Bobcat's 0. Hats off to the class act 14U Bobcat's. They gave the 13U Inferno a good look at what 14U softball is all about. AS ALWAYS, WAY TO GO 13U INFERNO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
