Red Bank Dixie Youth Baseball

It is the policy of Dixie Youth Baseball to promote the development of strong character, a right attitude, a sense of responsibility, and citizenship in youngsters, using the game of baseball as a vehicle. It is the purpose of Dixie Youth Baseball to achieve this goal through fair play, good sportsmanship, and congenial fellowship, with adult leaders providing the example while attempting to limit injury caused by overexertion. It is strictly against the policy of Dixie Youth Baseball for any person, either as a participant or a spectator, to engage in arguments, to use abusive language, to harass umpires, or to exhibit any behavior not in concert with the general intention of this policy statement. Team coaches are required to abide by this policy statement, and all parents and other adults are strongly encouraged to do so.

Our program is run by volunteers, other than the umpires that are paid, so when you are asked to work in the concession stand or help in other ways please be willing to contribute your time and energy to continue to make our program a huge success.

Majors division changes to "Ozone" for the 2011 Season

Beginning this season the RBDY Board voted to change from "Traditional" rules in the Majors division (11/12) to "Ozone" rules.

Some rule differences between the two is that Ozone allows the use of big barrel bats, bases will be 70ft apart instead of 60ft, and the pitcher will pitch from a distance of 50 ft instead of 46ft.  Bases will also be "open" meaning that runners will be allowed to steal while the pitcher is in possesion of the ball.  For additional differences and rules for Ozone please refer to 2011 Official Rules and Regulations on the RBDY News page.

Composite Bat ruling for 2011

Message Regarding Composite Barrel Bats

January 20th the National Board of Directors for Dixie Youth Baseball voted to put a moratorium (ban) on all composite barrel bats for the 2011 season. The commissioner, Wes Skelton, will be placing an article about this on the Dixie Youth web site. Please do not buy any of these bats for the 2011 season. More will be coming out later on this subject.

January 25th

SEE BELOW THE E-MAIL FROM DON RUDOLPH:

Last night the National Board voted to remove the moratorium on composite bats and use the specifications for composite bats that is on page 30 of the Dixie youth rule book. We will now allow them due to new information presented during our call last night.

Sorry for the confusion.
