2010 Quarterstix Girls 16U Travel Softball Team

Mission Statement: To establish a team of girls that will allow them to experience the higher level of play and learning associated with travel ball while reducing the time and cost commitment of traditional full travel programs.

History: The 12U Quarterstix were formed in 2004. The Quarterstix had a very successful first season: we entered seven tournaments and won first place in four of them. More importantly, each player gained vast experience, enhanced their skills in all phases, and had a blast! The 12U Quarterstix 2005-2006 season was equally successful. We entered eight tournaments, made it to the championship game in five, and won the championship game in two. In our first year at the 14U Level we won the 2007 State Tournament in Saratoga. In the 2008 season  our second year 14U team was even more succesful with three First place finishes, two second places and 4th in the NYS Championship. Quarterstix then moved up to the 16U division in the 2009 season and was used as a rebuilding year for our organization with two championship rounds and two second place finishes and a number of saturday pool play #1 seeds. Last we are very excited about the 2010 season and our squad. We are looking to get back to our winning ways with our stellar defense, exceptional pitching and our very experienced players!  We are known as a force to be reckoned with, and it feels good!

Goals: We are very excited about our 2010 season, and expect to continue our success. One of our philosophies is to try and keep a core group of players together. We feel that it is very important for the players to gel both on and off the field. We anticipate adding a number of girls to our existing line-up. We select players that are easily coached, have a competitive drive, are good sports on and off the field, and are fully committed to the team. Aside from school sports and functions, we expect full squad practices.

The Quarterstix are going to be a team to be reckoned with for the 2010 season.  We are planning to take this team all the way to the nationals and we feel we have the strength and depth in all areas.  We have some familiar faces as well as some new additions that will strengthen this program.  We are now entering our 6th season, our second at the 16U level.
