Power Surge players having a little fun with the parents.
Monday, April 23
Is there nothing this team can't do? After performing community service work Saturday morning picking up trash around Otay Lake, this team goes 3-0 at a Firecracker Friendly. Power Surge put up 19 runs on the day from 26 hits. They looked great and you can hardly tell they are missing the high school players. That's one of the most unique things about this team. You can miss 3 of your starters and never know it. This team hits all the way through the line-up. Great job girls, great job coaches, and great job parents. They could not do what they do if it wasn't for the support they get from home. We are proud to be Power Surge 97.

The rain tried to get us this weekend by raining out our scheduled games in Artesia. Thanks to Firecrackers and Punishers we were able to get in three great games in the city of Chino. Power Surge put up 13 runs and 20 hits on the day. Defense and pitching was solid as usual. Great job Power Surge.
Looking forward to performing communitiy service this Saturday, picking up trash at the Otay Lake in Chula Vista and to the Firecracker Friendly in Whittier this Sunday.
The count down begins now until we get our 3 high school players back. We miss you.
Sunday, March 25
Power Surge put up 25 runs on the day hitting the ball and scoring runs as usual. Nice work. The weather was challenging and we beat it too, for the most part. It didn't start raining hard until the last 20 minutes of our last game. The interesting call at home for the last play of the game was a great way to end the game. Nice work today, hope everyone made it home safe after driving in the rain. Spring break is upon us. But Power Surge hardly takes a break. Keep up the hard work girls.

Thank you to all who came out to support the Power Surge 97 Softball Club. It was awesome to see the support for this great team. The weather was the spectacular, the company was great, and everyone had a great time. Thanks again to all who donated items, donated their time, and donated their money. The players will benefit directly from all the funds raised.
Monday, March 5
First games without our "high school players" this weekend. Power Surge got off to a sluggish start and never really seemed to find their groove the entire day. They played solid teams and scored only 12 runs on the day, which is a bit low for this team. It's like starting a whole new season with a whole new team. Amazing the impact a few players can have on a team. However, this team is not slowing down, taking on games just about every weekend throughout the "high school season." Looking forward to more practice this week and a doubleheader this Saturday, followed by our team fundraising event at East Lake Greens Golf Course on Sunday, March 11th. Power Surge is hosting a Golf Tournament in an effort to raise money for expenses associated with playing in out-of-state Showcase Tournaments and the National Tournament.
Go Power Surge.
Saturday, February 18
As this weekend comes, we say a temporary good-bye to our high school players. Have fun. Power Surge 97 continues to play during the "dark season." We are only loosing 3 players to high school. We will continue to play on during the next few months. We will miss you guys.

WOW! What a weekend! This team never disappoints. We had the scouts staying to watch all of our games. That is just a testament to how much talent is on this team. Power Surge handled these older teams with great ease. The homeruns were constant, and not by the same player, by multiple players. The hits were constant. We played small ball, we played big ball. The defensive plays were amazing also. The practices this team conducts is really paying off. The pitching was awesome. We gave up 4 runs in a total of 30 innings. Plus we had 3 shut outs out of the 5 games. This team is the real deal. Way to go Power Surge.
Looking forward to this next weekend's showcase right here in on our home turf. It should be exciting.

Power Surge played in the Triple Crown Sports Christmas Qualifier, in the 16U Division this weekend. They did very well going 5-1 over the two days. This team is one of those rare, special teams that every coach dreams about. Outstanding team work all weekend. The highlight of the weekend has to be when you have a 0-0 ball game, runner on 1st base, pitcher releases the pitch, umpire sees a ball creep into the outfield and calls out, "No pitch, no pitch", and your batter hits a home run over the fence that does count. We ended up winning 1 to 0. But wow! Never say that one before. It was exciting.
Keep up the great work ethic and we will get there. Great job Power Surge!

The extra practice must have helped the players this weekend. They went 5-1 in a 16U Friendly in San Diego. The one loss was a 2-1 game by a top team. Great work Power Surge. Keep up the pace because we are headed into a tournament this coming weekend. The TCS Christmas Qualifier, held in San Diego. We are entered into the 16U Division to add more of a challenge to this advanced 14U Team. This is a Toy Drive Tournament and will be providing a new toy to support the cause. This is a time to also remind us of how fortunate we are to be able to give to others less fortunate. Keep up the hard work.
GO POWER SURGE 97!
Friday, November 18
Power Surge 97 put up 38 runs in four games vs. some very good competition. The bats were alive and well as usual with an amazing 33 hits combined on the weekend. Our pitching remained strong as usual. Defense was solid and the girls received a nice look from many Division One Colleges. It was a very exciting weekend. One that came up short on Sunday, being rained out.
This week Power Surge is taking a weekend off, but the practices continue. Nice work girls. Hope all enjoy your time with family over the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Power Surge '97 accomplished its goal for this past weekend. Win Monster Mash Tournament and qualifies for Triple Crown Nationals, 2012. Power Surge won all eight games they played. The pitchers were steller giving up 2 runs during the entire weekend. The defense was solid as usual and the offense was amazing scoring 42 runs. Congratulations Power Surge!
Monday, November 7
Despite the rainy weather, we were able to get four games in on Saturday. Although we did travel to Simi Valley to play, where there wasn't a cloud in the sky. We played a Firecracker 16U Friendly and did very good.
Now we are preparing for the Showcase Tournament in Phoenix, Arizona. The players are polishing their skills this week at practice and will, no doubt, put on a great show this weekend.
Go Power Surge!
Sunday, October 2
Schedule will be out soon. We have a full schedule with 15 teams attending.
Monday, September 26
Power Surge had a very nice day of playing the older girls. Great competition. We always learn when we play. The bats were alive as usual with 15 hits and 16 runs allowing us to get the upper hand. Pitchers were strong as always and the fans were fantastic. Looking forward to a weekend off before we start our marathon run in October.
Have a nice weekend off, you all deserve it.
Sunday, September 18
Power Surge played in its first 18U Friendly ever. The offense was aggressive scoring 17 runs with 15 hits on the day. Defense proved solid as usual. Pitching also held their own with the older girls giving up 9 hits and 8 runs. Power Surge's newer players are fitting right in with the rest. Nice job girls. Keep it going.
Monday, September 12
Power Surge started the season playing 16U Friendly in Fontana. The girls held their own while shaking the rust off their gloves. They scored 12 runs on 21 hits during the 3 games. It was a good start to the fall season. Back to practice during the week, getting ready for Friendly in Orange County.
"Excellence is not a singular act but a habit. You are what you repeatedly do."

Power Surge played three 7 inning games and one 11 inning game during the final day in pursuit to make it to the final game. After an AMAZING game that went back and forth in the swelting heat in the middle of the day, Power Surge finally pulled it off. They beat the Oregon Blaze after 11 innings to qualify for the 2012 ASA National's in Portland, Oregon. According to all the fans watching, it was by far the most exciting game of the year, if not ever. Amazing pitching, amazing plays, amazing hits. Wow! Congratulations girls, you did it. What a fantastic way to end the 2011 Season. Outstanding!
Saturday, August 6
What a great couple of games today, as Power Surge fights to get to the Championship Game. The worst we can do is 6th out of 98 teams at Western Nationals. Giving up only 3 runs in two games and putting up 10, that was obviously enough to do the job. A few more home runs over the fence and several strike outs and awesome defense is the receipe for success. Great job girls. We hopefully will have a long day of softball to finish off this National Tournament. Stay tuned.
Saturday, August 6
The Winner's Bracket gets tougher with each and every game. Power Surge won their first game of the day in the Winner's Bracket. And after 55 innings of play, finally allowed a run to score, but just one run. The girls looked solid on defense and still solid at the plate. They beat the Oakdale Monarchs 5 to 1 with the help of a three run over-the-fence shot. This earned them the right to play a late Friday night game vs. RR Gold. Power Surge came up on the wrong side of the W, even after two over the fence homers by the same player. Putting them in a short route to the Championship Game. Two games Saturday and two games Sunday to the Championship. With the competition getting tougher with each win, they will need to continue to play Power Surge Ball. Keep up the hard work girls.
Thursday, August 4
Power Surge is now 4-0 at Western Nationals. The sticks are alive and scary. In the four games so far, Power Surge players have put up, no kidding, 50 runs. The offense is on fire. And our pitchers and defense have givin up 0 runs. Nice work girls. Nice work coaches. Keep it up. Next game Friday at 2:30 pm. Stay tuned.

Monday night was fun and games for the players. Once the pin trading and Opening Ceremonies was finished, the players got into "game mode." On Tuesday, the first game of the tournament, was against San Jose Strikkers. Power Surge waited until the second inning to start the hitting party. The entire team contributed to the 16 to 0 score. Great job girls. Next game, today at 1 pm vs. Valley Ice. Let's have another hitting party today.
