Powell Little League: My Default Season Divisions
Girls, 7-12 years of age. This is an instructional division. Players pitch from 40-43 feet, depending on ability. Baseball rules generally apply. Games are 2 hours or 6 innings and may be considered complete after 4 innings. There is a 6-run limit with the last inning open. Stealing is allowed after the ball crosses the plate.
T-Ball
Boys and girls, 5-6 years of age. The focus is on having fun and learning the game. Players start by hitting off the tee, with coach pitching after four games. An inning ends after four runs, three outs, or batting the line up (there are no strike outs). Games last one hour.
Farm Ball
Boys and girls, 6-7 years of age. This is an intermediate, instructional level. There is no live pitching, but players use a pitching machine. There are strike outs and field outs, with a 4-run limit. Games last 1½ hours.
Minor Baseball
Boys and girls, 7-12 years of age. This is an instructional division. Players pitch from 40-43 feet, depending on ability. Baseball rules generally apply. Major Baseball

Junior Baseball
Boys and girls, 13-14 years of age. This is a competitive division with the same rules as majors. Games are played on fields with 90-ft baselines.
Major Softball
Girls, 9-12 years of age. This is a competitive division. Players pitch from 40-43 feet, depending on age. Games are 2 hours or 6 innings and may be considered complete after 4 innings. Stealing is allowed after the ball crosses the plate.
Junior Softball
Girls, 13-14 years of age. This is a competitive inter-league division. Games are seven innings long but are considered complete after five.
