Todd Anthony Sanzo
The Post 89 Baseball family lost a beloved member on Thursday April 7, 2005. Todd Sanzo lost his life in a house fire despite the heroic efforts of fellow teammate Craig Johnson to rescue him. Todd was a member of the Post 89 Baseball Team in 2000 and 2001. Todd became a constant presence at the 2004 Post 89 games to watch his younger brother Nate play in his first season for Post 89, who his friend Craig helped coach. Todd will be missed sorely by his fellow teammates and coaches. We will always remember Todd’s smile and his positive attitude on life, no matter what the situation was. We will always be proud to call him a teammate and a friend. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family.
My wife, Chris, and I will miss him at the Keith Kenderes Memorial Golf Tournament each fall. Todd’s athletic skills in baseball and soccer may have only been exceeded by his golfing skills. The team he played on won the tournament several times and he told us how much that meant to him.
The Post 89 baseball team will dedicate the 2005 season in Todd’s memory for his parents Tony and Renee, his sister Tara, her son Anthony and his brother Nate.
Gifts in Todd’s memory can be made to the Todd Sanzo Golf Memorial Fund, and can be sent to Sanzo Specialties, PO Box 68, Endicott, NY 13750.
