Amy Young to Join Portland North Coaching Staff
Portland North Alumnus, Amy Young, concluded her outstanding collegiate career at Maine Maritime Academy by being named to the 2009 North Atlantic Conference Volleyball Championships All-Tournament Team.  Amy supplied superb play and outstanding leadership to her team which won the NAC Championship for the 3rd straight year!  Congratulations, Amy!! 
Amy will soon join the Portland North coaching staff.  She sees it as a way to "give back to the sport because she loved playing for Portland North."

9/15/09 ­ Cleary Named GNAC Rookie of the Week
STANDISH, ME ­ Saint Joseph’s Volleyball player Caitlin Cleary ’13 (Scarborough, ME) has been selected as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week after leading the Monks to the SJC Autumn Invitational crown last weekend.
Cleary notched 34 kills, 20 service aces, and 54 digs in four matches over the weekend and was named as the SJC Autumn Invitational Most Valuable Player. She posted her first collegiate double-double with 12 kills and 29 digs against Green Mountain in the tourney championship match on September 12th.

The first-year player currently leads St. Joe’s in service aces (33) and digs (92) and ranks second on the team in kills (90).

The Monks, off to a 7-4 start this fall, and will host Lesley University this evening at 7:30 PM.

Amy Young named NAC Player of the Week for Volleyball - September 20, 2009
(Amy Young, Sr, Middle Hitter, Cumberland, ME)

Young was outstanding in MMA's three matches this week, leading the Lady Mariners to a 3-0 week and an 8-1 overall record. In her two NAC matches this week Young collected 17 kills, 4 aces, 8 digs, and 3 blocks. She also had a .333 hitting percentage. In her non league game this week, Young had 11 kills, 3 aces, and 6 digs. Her 28 kills for the week led the team.
