Registration FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

Who processes the payments when I register online through the Portland Little League website?

Our website is hosted through the "eTeamz" network and they use www.active.com as their collection and registration service. We have used this method for several years in PLL with no issues. It is quick, easy and secure!

What about the birth certificate?

We need a photocopy of your child's birth certificate at least once. Everything in Little Legaue is organized around the player's age so this is very important. However, if your child has played with us before and this has been taken care of you are all set. If you are registering a first time player online we will take care of this at a later date.

Do you also run T-Ball?

NO. PORTLAND LITTLE LEAGUE DOES NOT OFFER A T-BALL PROGRAM. THIS IS HANDLED THROUGH PORTLAND PARK AND REC. Please check the Town of Portland website for details. T-Ball is for children league age 6 and under.

I understand registration starts so early because of "winter clinics". What are these?

Portland Little League started an indoor winter clinic program last year and it was a huge success. The goal for these clinics is to get players going a little early to help them get a head start on the spring season. Many different drills and game activities are held indoors for all divisions and age levels. These are of no additional cost to you BUT DUE TO INSURANCE REASONS, WE CAN ONLY ALLOW REGISTERED PLL PLAYERS TO PARTICIPATE. We hope to get going with these soon so get registered!

I prefer to register in person. Will there be walk-in registrations?

Yes we have 2 planned. Please click the "Registration Information" link in the left menu for dates and times.

During the registration process, I was asked if I wanted to volunteer but I know nothing about coaching baseball. How can I help?

There are many activities and behind the scenes tasks needed to run our league that have nothing to do with baseball. Opening Day for example is our biggest event of the season and requires many hours from many volunteers to pull it all off. The Board of Directors is always looking for help. Or you might consider helping your child's Coach as a "team parent". Helping with stats or team communications, practice scheduling or anything else the Coach might need assistance with. We can ALWAYS find things to do for people eager to help!
