2010 Spring Registration Information

Registration opens November 8, 2009 and closes January 31, 2010.   Please note that fees do increase the later you register, so we encourage you to register in November.

 

Online Registration

Registering on-line this is the quickest and easiest way to register.  A link on the left hand side of the Home page will direct you to the registrations application which is administered through Active.com.  

 

Walk-in Registration

For those who have questions, or prefer to register in person we will hold three walk-in registration dates at the Portland Senior Center, downstairs, as follows:

 

  • Thursday November 19th, 2009 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
  • Wednesday December 9th, 2009 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
  • Wednesday January 13th, 2010 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm

 

 

Player registration fee schedule

  • If you register be November 30, 2009, $75.00 for first child, $60.00 for the first sibling, $50.00 for each additional sibling
  • If you register by December 31, 2009, $85.00 for first child, $70.00 for the first sibling, $60.00 for each additional sibling
  • If you register by January 31, 2010, $95.00 for first child, $80.00 for the first sibling, $70.00 for each additional sibling

Rules on'Playing Up'

"My son is '6' and plays baseball every day and can hit a four seam fastball better the David Wright.  He really wants to play this year.  Can he?"

 

A child may play up into the instructional division provided they meet the following requirements:

  1. The child must be league age 6 - appropriate for the division (baseball or softball).
  2. They must have played the prior season in Portland Park & Recreation's Tee Ball Program (or equivilant league in another town).  Players will be verified thru Park and Recreation.
  3. The division has space available for players.

You must submit a request in writing (email portlandctlittleleague@comcast.net) to the to have your son/daughter play-up.  You will thenbe given instructions to 'Pre-register' him/her.  Pre-registation will be a wait-list formed for the directors of use in during team formations.

 

Division / Team Ages

  • Baseball  
  • Instructional   League Age 7-8
  • Minors          League Age 9-10
  • Majors          League Age 10-12
  • Juniors          League Age 13-14
  • Seniors         League Age 15-16
  • Note: Baseball League age --> Son/Daughters age as of April 30, 2010
  • Softball  
  • Minors             League Age 7-9
  • Majors             League Age 10-12
  • Juniors/Seniors League Age 13-16
  • Note Softball League Age --> Daughter's age as of January 1, 2010

Player Medical Release Forms

Prior to season beginning, an email will be sent out with a blank 2010 Player Medical Release Form.  Please print this at that time, fill out and turn in to your coach.

 

Volunteer Forms

Any adult who interacts with players during the season (Coach, Assitant Coach, Umpire, Parent who may step in to coach to help a coach when he/she is shorthanded, etc.) MUST fill out and submit a 2010 Volunteer Form and a copy of their current drivers license.  Note: This is mandatory every year.  Copies are not retained from year to year.

Refund Policy

 

"My son decided he wants to wait another year to play baseball, can we get a refund?"
All refund requests need to be made in writing and sent either via e-mail or regular mail as follows:

Portland Little League's refund policy is as follows:

* Prior March 1st, 2010 a $5.00 administrative fee will be charged and the balance refunded per player.

* After March 1st, 2010 and prior to the first game a 50% refund will be issued.  If uniforms have been issued the refund will be processed once the uniform has been returned.

* There will be no refund after the start of the regular season.
