Safety First!
PLL is committed to the safety of our players. Below are links to various topics, information, and forms used by the PLL and the league.
If you have ANY concerns or suggestions please feel free to e-mail Steve Sachs, your PLL Safety Officer at stevezz@aol.com
The Managers and coaches of each team are provided a PLL safety manual that they are to use throughout the season. It entails responsibilities required of each volunteer and player. Each team is issued a "mini" first aide kit and larger kits are available in the field storage sheds.
Managers and coaches also attend a sports injury clinic each year to teach them how to identify and initially treat, and hopefully prevent any injuries that may occur.
Although we attempt to prevent all injuries, some are bound to happen due to the nature of the sport. If and when these happen, managers are responsible to ensure immediate response and then required to fill out the Preliminary Incident Form as soon as possible after the event and forward to the Safety Officer. You can now submit this report on-line. If the injured person is subsequently seen by a medical practitioner, a release from a medical practitioner is required before that individual may partake in any Little League activities.
PLL and Little League has an insurance policy for injuries happening while volunteering or playing during Little League events, but certain restrictions apply. Please read "What Parents Should Know" and if a claim is warranted, please fill out the AIG Accident Notification Form, and forward to the Safety Officer.
Our "Code of Conduct" policy is effective anytime a Little League function or event is occuring. Feel free to review our policy. The second page is a form you may fill out and submit to any PLL board member, depicting a violation to this policy.
And finally, the size and locations of our facilities is large. Although you can be rest assured we do all we can to make the facilities as safe as possible for our kids. Some things we just can't get fixed, but we'll die trying. So we can use your help. If you see anything you feel is unsafe and you're unable to correct it on the spot. Please fill out our "Unsafe Condition Report" and e-mail it to the Safety Officer, Steve Sachs, stevezz@aol.com Or just send an e-mail, but please include return information in case questions arise.
All these forms and others are available at the handout section of the site. Thank you for your interest in PLL Safety.
