Emmett Jacobi finished seventh in the 500 free with a time of 4:46.52 and two Panthers relay teams scored points in the finals as the Pittsford Boys Swimming and Diving team took part in the State Championship Meet at Erie Community College February 26-27.
Alan Chuang, Matt Tanchick, Brandon McManus and Tyler McCrobie finished 14th in the 200 medley relay (1:41.09). McCrobie, Morgan Marin, Owen Drinkwater and McManus were 13th in the 200 free relay (1:30.97).
In individual events, Tanchick was 13th in the 200 Individual Medley (2:00.33) and 16th in the 500 free. The top 16 swimmers in each event scored points for their teams at States.
In the preliminary round, Jacobi also represented Pittsford in the 200 free, McCrobie took part in the 50 free and McManus swam the 100 fly and the 100 back.
Pittsford finished the season as the top team in Section 5, winning their eighth straight Class A Championship and seventh straight Monroe County Division I title. They also won their fourth consecutive Owego Invitational and third straight "Fab 4" Invitational at Bath. Their only loss this season was to Section 2 Champion Shenendehowa and the Panthers continue to maintain one of the longest dual meet winning streaks against Section 5 competitors.
The Panthers are led by Head Coach Mark Morris, Assistant Coach Rick Schmitt and Diving Coach Duane Green.
This year's co-captains were seniors Brandon McManus, Kevin Maier and Lee Silverstein.
