The Pittsford Boys Swimming and Diving team dunked Rush-Henrietta, 103-75, to improve to 4-1 in dual meets this season. The Panthers took first place or had the fastest times in ten of 12 events.
Brandon McManus, Matt Tanchick, Morgan Marin and Tyler McCrobie turned in a time of 1:44.71 to win the opening 200 medley relay. Alan Chuang, Lee Silverstein, Emmett Jacobi and Owen Drinkwater took third in the medley.
Shea Ransford was a close second for Pittsford in the 200 yard freestyle (1:56.92), with Ryan Horey capturing third. Pittsford swept the top three spots in the 200 IM with McCrobie first (2:09.78), Chuang second and Josh Kapilivsky third. McManus followed with a win in the 50 free, a time of 23.89, with Kevin Maier right at the wall with him in second at 23.93.
In the diving competition, Pittsford’s Brad Kwarta took first place with 145.75 points, Sam Randall was second with 139.65 and Dylan Marin was fourth with 125.60.
Following diving, Pittsford dominated the meet. Tanchick won the 100 fly in a time of 55.77, with Charlie Harrington placing third in the event. The next two events were again sweeps for Pittsford. Marin won the 100 free (50.08), with Jacobi second and Will Dawson third. Alex Branch took first in the 500 free (5:09.32), with Stephen Thomas second and McCrobie third.
In the sprint relay, it was a race between two Pittsford teams. Dawson, Max Goodenow, Silverstein and Maier took first place with 1:37.28. Horey, Kapilivsky, Branch and M. Marin were right next to them in second place at 1:37.84.
Swimming exhibition, McManus had the second fastest time in the 100 back, 56.75, just 4/100th of a second behind R-H’s Bobby Dingman. Dawson posted the fastest 100 breast time in exhibition, 1:06.35. Also swimming exhibition in another race between Panthers relay teams, Chuang, Kapilivsky, Branch and Jacobi turned in the fastest time in the 400 free relay, 3:29.65. Tanchick, Goodenow, Maier and McManus had the second fastest time in the relay, 3:29.96.
Pittsford’s junior varsity also notched a victory at Rush-Henrietta pool on January 7. PJ Ransford had the fastest times in the 200 free and the 500 free. Vincent Criscuolo won the 200 IM. Trevor McCrobie had the best times in the 50 free and the 100 back. Brett Eslinger was the fastest swimmer in the 100 fly and the 100 breast. Scott Mayall took first place in the 100 free and Ryan Stern won the diving competition for the Panther’s JV.
Pittsford, the defending Monroe County and Section 5 champions, will face traditional rivals Fairport, Penfield and Webster in their next three meets.
