Pittsford took first place in eight of 12 events as the Panthers defeated Victor, 102-79, in the home opener at Mendon pool. Emmett Jacobi won the 200 IM (2:03.18) and the 100 back (58.51). Matt Tanchick was the victor in the 200 free (1:49.27) and the 500 free (5:07.58), as Pittsford improved to 2-0 on the season and extended its unbeaten streak in dual meets to 73.
Other individual winners for Pittsford included Owen Drinkwater, who clocked a 23.59 in the 50 free and Tyler McCrobie, first in the 100 free with 50.40. Swimming exhibition, Will Dawson had the fastest time in the 100 breast, (58.51). Also placing well for Pittsford were Morgan Marin, second in the 100 fly, and Sam Randall, second in diving.
Pittsford won the 200 medley relay behind Alan Chuang, Tanchick, Marin and McCrobie, with a time of 1:44.58. The Panthers sprint relay of Kevin Maier, Drinkwater, Marin and Brandon McManus posted 1:34.91 for first place. In exhibition, the 400 free relay team of McCrobie, Dawson, Drinkwater and McManus had the fastest time, 3:25.50.
The Pittsford junior varsity cruised past the Victor JV to also improve to 2-0 at the meet on December 15.
The Panthers travel to the Capital region this Saturday to take on Section 2 champion Shenendehowa in a meet that may decide the number one team in New York State.
