Emmett Jacobi won the 200 free and the 500 free as the Pittsford Boys Swimming and Diving team defeated cross town rival Penfield, 98-77, to extend their unbeaten streak.
The meet opened with a close race between two Panther relay teams. Alan Chuang, Morgan Marin, Brandon McManus and Tyler McCrobie posted a 1:46.48 for the victory in the 200 medley relay. Teammates Andrew Maier, Lee Silverstein, Ryan Horey and Dan Locke were right next to them in second place with a time of 1:46.57.
Jacobi followed with his first win of the day in the 200 free (1:51.14). John Lyman was second and Matt Tanchick placed third for the Panthers. Marin took first in the 200 IM with a time of 2:10.28, McCrobie was second and McManus placed third. Locke was the victor in the 50 free (22.45), with Maier taking third.
In the diving competition, Alex Byrd placed third for the Panthers with 170.85 points and Matt Tartaglia was fourth with 137.70.
Following diving, McManus won the 100 fly with a time of 57.29, with Silverstein second. Locke took place in the 100 free (49.34), with Marin third. Jacobi’s second victory came in the 500 free (4:56.55), with Tanchick second and Lyman third. The sprint relay, the 200 freestyle, was won by the team of McCrobie, Marin, Lyman and Locke (1:32.44).
Pittsford swam exhibition for the rest of the meet, but still put up the fastest times in several events. Maier had the best time in the 100 back (59.02) and Silverstein was fastest in the 100 breast (1:08.31).
It was the 65th consecutive dual meet victory for Coach Mark Morris and his Panther’s finmen.
