PITTSFORD DUNKS SPENCERPORT IN HOME OPENER AT MENDON
Pittsford took first place in all 12 events as the Panthers downed Spencerport, 117-57, for their third straight dual meet victory of the season.
Andrew Maier, Jimmy Prezzano, Kenny Pink and Matt VanVoorhis opened with a victory in the 200 Medley Relay and the Panthers never looked back. Andrew Kuter won the 200 free, with Dan Locke second and Tyler McCrobie third. Pink followed with a win in the 200 IM, with Lee Silverstein taking second and Maier third. Nate French follow with a victory in the 50 free, his first of two wins on the day, with Prezzano taking second place.
Wills DeMoulin won the diving competition, with Scott Lasher second in diving and Alex Byrd taking third. Diving took place at the new middle school, while repairs are completed on the boards at Mendon Pool.
In the 100 fly, Locke was the victor, with Prezzano coming in third. French had his second victory in the 100 free, just edging teammate Kuter, who came in second. Matt Lobban was the winner of the 500 free, with McCrobie coming in third and John Lyman in fourth place.
Lobban, Lyman, Sean McManus and Kuter teamed up for first place in the 200 free relay. VanVoorhis, Silverstein, Prezzano and French finished third in the sprint relay.
Freshman Brandon McManus had his first victory for varsity in the 100 back, with Nick Haas in third. Sean McManus and teammate Pink battled it out in the 100 breast, with McManus (1:03.39) just touching out Pink (1:03.43) for the win, with Silverstein taking fourth for the Panthers.
Brandon McManus, Pink, Prezzano and French finished the meet, Pittsford’s home opener, with a victory in the 400 free relay, with McCrobie, Sean McManus, Locke and Kuter taking second.
Pittsford’s junior varsity notched another victory, 99-63. Alex Hannan won the 50 free and the 100 free. Emmett Jacobi was the other double winner for JV, taking the 200 free and the 500 free.
Head Coach Mark Morris said he was pleased with his team’s performance on a day with a double practice, in preparation for the Owego Invitational.
