Why Volunteer

Little League is based on volunteers. Without them, it would not exist. You do not have to dedicate hundreds of hours to be of help. The more people that get involved the less there is for each of us. Also, some of the costs are directly related to a lack of volunteers, so your participation can make a difference in the registration fees that are charged. Little League is an important part of a lot of children's lives. You can become a part of it.

Here are some of the things that you can do to help our league flourish...

Manage or Coach a Team

One of the most important things that you can do for our organization is manage or coach a baseball or softball team. You can bring the joy of Little League to the youth of Pitman. Coaches are often remembered fondly and are huge influences on our children's lives.

Work the Concession Stand

You help us raise the funds we need by working in our concession stand. We are known for our great hot dogs and good prices. Your friendly smile could help keep the tradition going.

Do Some Fundraising

You could organize a fundraiser (bake sale, raffles, etc.) or help run 50/50s and raffles on busy nights at the fields. Let us know if you have any ideas on how we can increase income through fundraising.

Umpire Some Games

A growing cost for our league os the need to pay umpires for Major League, Junior and Senior League games. These costs are reflected in the registration costs. If you could spend some time umpiring these games, the league could substantially reduce costs for everyone. It will also give you a great feeling knowing that you are benefitting these children.

Join The Board

We are always looking for people to come out to the meetings and provide their input on the issues that we face. You don't have to get elected to participate. Look at the calendar to see when the meetings are and join us.
