Petaluma American Little League: 2012 Season Divisions
The Minor A Coach Pitch Division is for players 6 - 9 years of age. Games are an extension of practice - low key and non-competitive. Focus is on fundamental skills and sportsmanship. Accordingly, game scores and league standings are not maintained.
"AA" Division (7-10)
The Minor 7-10 AA player pitch division is for players 7-10 years of age that are drafted following try outs. It is intended to be an instructional league. Managers and Coaches should keep this in mind as they develop the skills of all players on their team.
"AAA" Division (9-11)
The Minor 9-11 AAA Division is intended to be an introductory competitive league. Managers and Coaches should keep this in mind as they develop the skills of all the players on their team.
"Major" Division (10-12)
The 10-12 Major Division is a competetive level of play. Teams are not redrafted each year.
"Junior" Division (13-14)
The Junior Division is for players aged 13 and 14. Games are played on a 90 foot diamond. The Petaluma Junior Division is composed of players from Petaluma American, National, and Valley Little Leagues and competes against other teams from District 35. Each league will still have its own All Star Team.
Senior Interleague Division (Ages 15-16)
The Senior Interleague Division consists of teams made up from players from Petaluma American, Petaluma National & Petaluma Valley. The Senior Division continues competitive play well into an athlete's High School years. This division allows High School age athletes to compete and gain valuable experience.
