Carolina Hurricanes and Raleigh Youth Hockey Association Announce Partnership And New Tier I/AAA Program

At a press conference held on Thursday, March 22 the Carolina Hurricanes announced the launch of Canes Youth and Amateur Hockey (CYAH) and a partnership with Raleigh Youth Hockey Association. Beginning in the 2007-08 season, the Hurricanes, through CYAH, will provide sponsorship support for our programs at all levels.
Raleigh Youth Hockey is also proud to announce the addition of a Tier I/AAA program. We were granted Tier I status by the Carolina Amateur Hockey Association on Wednesday, March 21. Our Tier I program, run in conjunction with CYAH will be called the Junior Hurricanes. This is an exciting development for RYHA and our membership. |

Friesen 5K Set For September 9th
In what is becoming the traditional way to kick off the new hockey season, Hurricanes Head Trainer and Strength and Conditioning Coach Pete Friesen will hold his Friesen's 5K Fun Run on Sunday, September 9th. Last year's inaugural run was a huge success as over 2,000 people, including Hurricanes players and coaches, participated in the event, which raised over $21,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Eastern North Carolina.
