Registration Questions

How much does Spring Season Registration cost?

For the 2010 spring Season, $90 for 1st child, $70 for 2nd child, 3rd child is free, plus the mandatory fund raiser fee of $50/family. This fee purchases a book of 25 raffle tickets that you can sell for $2.00 each. You keep the money for any of these tickets that you sell. The $90 registration fee wil be refunded if you obtain an Executive Sponsorship -- see Fund Raising Page for details on the Grand Slam Raffle and Sponsorships.

Late Fee of $20/family will be added for registrations after the last walk-in Registration Day. The late fee is waived for players who try out for high school baseball and exceptional cases such as families who just moved to the area since November 2009. See the Late Fee article on the News page for more details.

Pay by Check, Cash or Money Order, NO CREDIT CARDS are accepted at Walk-in Registration.

Payment is expected at registration, including those that expect to get an Exec. Sponsorship. Parents will be reimbursed $90 after the Executive Sponsorship payment is received.

What do we need to bring to registration?

When registering a player for the first time, you should bring a photocopy of their birth certificate, or we can make a copy at registration. We keep the copy.

Parents that would like to help coach need to bring your drivers license – we make a copy at registration. For new coaches we ask for names & phone numbers of 3 references. No prior coaching experience is required.

Should we download registration forms before we come to registration?

Not for players returning from last year.  All returning players and coaches have pre-filled registration forms waiting for parents to sign.   For new players (or those that skipped last year) you can download the forms to save a little time at registration, but its not required.

Coaches who cannot come to registration should send a completed and signed LL Volunteer form with the person registering their kids. The coach’s signature authorizes the league to run the required criminal background check.

Can we register online or by mail?

Please use Walk-in registration if at all possible - its much more efficient.  If you can't come in person, then Mail-in your registration form before the end of Walk-in period to avoid the late fee. Please do not give your registration form to a coach for him to turn in -- those forms often get misplaced or lost. Online registration is only available for Late Registration and includes the Late fee.

What is the "Family Membership" or "Advantage Membership" offered on the Active.com online registration page?

“Family” or “Advantage” Memberships on the Active.com website has nothing to do with Pennridge Little League.  This is an Active.com promotion (for about $50/yr) that provides small discounts for Online registrations and may include some shopping discounts at their preferred retailers.  This is aimed at families who participate in many sports that have online registrations processed by Active.com.

All information Pennridge Little League posts on our website is available to every internet user — you do not have to be a “Member” of our website to get information.

What are the Pennridge Little League Boundaries?

PLL boundaries include Perkasie Borough, Sellersville Borough, East and West Rockhill Townships. Residents of Hilltown and Bedminster townships are outside our boundaries even though their mailing address may have a Perkasie zip code.

We live outside the Pennridge LL boundaries; can we still sign up?

Yes, with a restriction for players age 9-12. Parents of non-resident players Age 5-12 must complete a Residency Waiver form each year at registration. The Residency Waiver notifies parents that their child is not eligible to play in the LL Williamsport Tournaments for either Pennridge LL or their "home" Little League (which is Deep Run for most living outside our boundaries). This is a formality for Tball and Coach Pitch divisions since the youngest Williamsport Tournament team is age 10 (& under), but in 4 years your child might be good enough to play on such a team. See article on Waivers on our News page for more details.

Residency waivers do not apply for most players league age 13-16 because our neighboring Little League organizations (like Deep Run, Quakertown, Plumstead) no longer have LL divisions for that age group. (They have Connie Mack, but that's not Little League). Hence players age 13-16 who live within LL boundaries that are adjacent to Pennridge LL can play on our senior division Williamsport tournament teams.

Families that start within our boundaries and later move out are grandfathered into our leagues as long as they have at least one child in the league. The above restrictions do not apply to them.

What are the age groups for Pennridge Little League?

Age Division

5-6 Tball (primarily using batting Tee, may introduce coach pitch later in season)

7    Coach Pitch  (primarily using coach pitch to prepare players for Minors next year)

8-9 Minors (Players Pitch)

10-11 Intermediate

11-12 Majors

13-16 Jr/Sr (Currently Jr & Sr divisions are merged as we have very few 16 yr olds)

Players are assigned to a division based on their "League Age" -- their age as of April 31 in the current year.  For example, a player whose 5th birthday is on April 31 has League Age 5 for the spring season, even though they are calendar age of 4 in January at the time of registration.

The league has some flexibility on league age when assigning players to a division based on their ability.  The primary criteria is the safety of the player.

Will my 2 kids be on the same team?

Sibings in the same division are placed on the same team unless requested otherwise by the parents. Tball division has been subdivided into two divisions as done at other Little Leagues: Tball-A includes ages 5 & 6; Tball-B is for age 7 and a few of the oldest age 6 players.

Will my child be on the same team as last year?

Normally, players returning to the same division for Tball-A, Tball-B and Minors divisions are kept on the same team, unless they are redrafted because the teams are not balanced or there are too few returning players from a team. When moving to a new division, players are always re-drafted by the head coach. Intemediate , Majors and Jr/Sr. divisions normally have a full re-draft every year.

Assistant coaches wishing to coach with a particular head coach should contact the head coach and tell him you would like to assist on his team. When teams are redrafted, the head coach can designate only 1 assistant prior to start of the draft.

My son is 11, does he have to tryout for Majors?

This is a common concern every year. All 11 year olds are encouraged to tryout for Majors, so at registration their default division is specified as "Major Tryouts". Those not selected for Majors are included in the Intermediate draft.

Kids get intimidated by the word “Majors”. We realize that while the child’s age acts as the parameter to set the level they play at, it does not have to be the only determining factor. We want to place each child in the environment that will foster as much confidence, growth and FUN as possible. We suggest your son come to the major auditions before you make your final decision, if for no other reason than to get some baseball time in a gym on a cold winter day. The league will do what is best for each player, but see if you could at least negotiate him coming to the tryouts.

How can we register for Connie Mack baseball?

Pennridge Connie Mack is a completely separate organization from Pennridge Little League.  We do not handle registration for them.  See the Links page on our website for a link to the Bux-Mont Connie Mack league.

Pennridge LL is one of the few Little League organizations in the area that still have a 13-16 yr old Little League program.  Our Jr/Sr game schedule ends early enough in May so our players can also play in the Connie Mack league.

Do we need to specify a Uniform Size at registration?

No.  Every team gets the same distribution of shirt sizes small, med, large and XL, weighted toward small and mediums for Tball.  The shirts have to be ordered long before we know who is on what team.

What are the duties of “Team Mom” and “Snackstand Planning Committee”?

The Team mom helps organize who brings snacks to each game. Beyond that it’s up to each team what they do – for example help organize a team picnic?

Snackstand Planning Committee is the group that Manages the snack stands, such as plan the menus, assign parents to man the snack stands, help with open and close of the stands each day. The planning and assigning are done “offline”, not during games. All parents are expected to help man the snack stands.

Registration is Closed for our Division, What can we do?

You can contact the Data manager to be placed on a waiting list. You can also contact other leagues in our area to see if they still have openings and/or the YMCA for Tball. See the Links Page on our website for leagues in our area.

Where can we find a girls Softball League?

Pennridge Little League does not have a softball program.

Deep Run has girls softball teams, see http://www.drvsa.org/index.php
They have some additional links on their website, see

Between Registration and Start of Games

What happens after registration? How will we be notified?

You will receive a confirmation email so you can check the accuracy of the information entered into our database.

Teams are formed in March. You will receive a call from the coach of your team to tell you about start of practices, helping with the annual spring field clean up, etc. Uniforms are often handed out at one of the field clean up work parties.

When do Practices Start? Where are they held?

Practices start in mid March, weather permitting - 1 or 2 practices per week until games start, and then few separate practices after games start. Coaches do not expect every player to be at every practice or game as they know conflicts do occur.

Most practices are held at various elementary schools and in the open area in Lenape Park near the skate park area (across the street from McDonalds on Constitution Ave. Each head coach determines where they will practice – and the locations can change if a field is too wet or too many other teams are using the same location.

The Player Agent in each division determines if and when the league fields can be used for practices. The T-Ball & Minor fields are usually not used for practices because they are often too wet and still in need of clean up prior to the start of regular season games in early April.

What baseball equipment do we need?

The minimum is a baseball glove. Don't need an expensive one -- what's important is a "broken-in" glove that's easy for you players to close. (Wal-Mart sells already broken-in gloves with a notch in the palm so it's easy to close.)

When are games scheduled?

Typically 2 games per week, 1 on a weekday and 1 on Saturday, mid April till end of May.  The game schedule for this year will not be set until March and practice schedule is set by each head coach. Last year's game schedule on our website will give you a good idea of a typical schedule. Go to Game Schedules and click on one of the divisions listed.

Where are games Played?

  • T-Ball and Minor Divisions play on our fields in Lake Lenape Park, North Entrance on E. Walnut St. in Sellersville, down the hill from Pierce Library.
  • Intermediates and Majors play on our fields on Market Street at 2nd Ave in Perkasie at the eastern end of Lenape Park..
  • Jr/Sr games are held at James Memorial Park on Ridge Rd in West Rockhill.
