The Peninsula Pilots are seeking sponsors for the 2010/2011 season!!!
In order to offer Peninsula youth additional opportunities to learn and enjoy the sport of baseball at its highest levels, in the fall of 2006, a group of local, dedicated parents started up the Pilots Pilots Youth Baseball Team, an AAU/USSSA baseball club. It is our goal to offer area youth advanced training, keen competition and the best that the sport has to offer. We do not emphasize winning; we focus instead on the development of each member into the best ballplayer, teammate and young man that they can be.
For top quality instruction, we continue to educate the coaching staff to offer our youth some of the best coaching and training in Hampton Roads. What they need now, is the financial means to purchase the necessary uniforms, equipment and toruney entry fees to compete with the best baseball teams in the state.
Your tax-deductible investment in our team will help honor our local Pilots while empowering Peninsula youth athletes. It will be most appreciated and duly recognized.
Thank you, in advance, for kindly considering this request for Peninsula youth.

NORFOLK, Va. (November 12, 2008) – The (Coastal Plain) Peninsula Pilots are deeply saddened today to share the news of the passing of their longtime batboy, inspirational teammate and friend Kevin Eadie. Kevin, who recently completed his seventh season with the team, slid home early this morning after an unbelievably courageous lifelong battle with a rare and cruel disease known as Niemann-Pick Type C. His heartbreaking departure comes less than two months shy of his 15th birthday.
Throughout his time with the Pilots, the disease gradually and torturously stripped Kevin of his ability to walk and talk, but never eroded his infectious spirit. His presence around the team and its fans was always uplifting and seemed to bring out the best in those that were lucky enough to be a part of his life. The team was never as special before he arrived. He will be sorely missed as we seek to carry his spirit forward.
A visitation is planned for Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home (11144 Warwick Blvd., Newport News). The family invites all in the community to share in a celebration of Kevin's life on Monday at 2 p.m. in First Baptist Church (12716 Warwick Blvd., Newport News).
