03/04 Modified Wrestlers Dominate Pittsford
The Penfield Modified Wrestling Team won 15 out of 22 mathces in the match against Pittsford. Billy Sprague and Steve Vacanti fired up the Patriots with first period pins. Other pins were posted by Jon Wheaton, Chris Hurley, Austin Quinn, Matt Bovenzi, and Rich Battoglia. Doug Fogle continued his winning ways with two victories by decision. Other Patriot wrestlers with victories were Kevin Corrado, Joe Cicero, Eric Horton, Keith Sinclair, Gian Maggio, and Kyle Semrau.

03/04 Mods Travel to Arcadia
Steve Nettnin led the Penfield Modified Wrestling Team with a 28 second pin in their match against the Greece Arcadia Spartans. Eric Horton, Mike Girard, Gian Maggio, Brett Fassl, Kevin Corrado, Billy Sprague, and Steve Fuest also posted pins for Penfield. Austin Quinn, Rob Holmes, Doug Fogle, Ryan Lawrence, Rich Battoglia, Steve Vacanti, and Eric Bloss also posted victories for the Patriots.

03/04 Modified Wrestlers Wrestle on Day Off
The Penfield Modified Wrestling Team found an unexpected day of on Saturday when their match against Spencerport was rescheduled. 12 wrestlers decided to spend their day off competing in a wrestling tournament at Pal-Mac. When the dust settled the 12 wrestlers came home with 8 Champions, 1 second place finish, 2 third place finishes, and 1 fourth place finish. Joe Cicero, Mike Vacanti, Billy Sprague, Brandyn Devanney, Matt Bovenzi, Eric Bloss, Mike Girard, and Kyle Semrau all won the tournament in their weight classes. David Wood placed second. Chris Hurley and Stephen Nettnin both placed third and Ryan Lawrence placed fourth.

03/04 Mods Pin Roth
The Penfield Modified Wrestling Team posted 15 pins against Roth Middle School. Chris Hurley and Eric Bloss earned Wrestler of the Match honors as they posted two pins each against Roth opponents. Gian Maggio, Alex Liu, Jeff Vogt, Taylor Hughes, Steve Fuest, Austin Quinn, Andrew Miran, Rich Battoglia, Steve Nettnin, David Wood and Adam Miles also recorded victories by pin. Patriot Wrestlers Steve Nettnin, Ryan Lawrence, Kyle Semrau, Doug Fogle, Joe Cicero, Brian Dorsey and Cameron VanWie all won their matches by decision. Nick Dawes was nominated Wrestler of the Week.

03/04 Modified Wrestlers Host Greece-Apollo
The Penfield Modified Wrestling Team posted 16 wins against the Greece-Apollo team. The Wrestler of the Match award was earned by Stephen Albrecht and Keith Sinclair. Albrect posted two victories with a pin and a 13-3 decision. Sinclair also earned two victories with a pin and a 5-2 decision. Jon Wheaton impressed the crowd with a pin in 7 seconds. Joe Cicero and Eric Horton both continued their winning ways with pins. Other pins were posted by Brett Fassl, Eric Bloss, Gian Maggio, and Mike Vacanti. David Wood, Steve Fuest, Alex Peffley, Jeff Vogt, and Ryan Lawrence all won their matches by decision. Up next, Roth Middle School Saturday.
Sunday, January 18
03/04 Semrau Stays Hot in Hilton
The Penfield Modified Wrestling Team visited Hilton Saturday and faced strong competition. Kyle Semrau shared Wrestler of the Match honors with Stephen Albrecht. Semrau recorded two more victories by pin, giving him three pins and a technical fall this year. Albrecht won his first match with a hard fought 5-3 decision. He recorded a pin in his second match. Joe Cicero also recorded two victories by decisions of 3-1 and 3-2. Other winners were Taylor Hughes, Steve Nettnin, Keith Sinclair, Doug Fogle, Jon Wheaton and Billy Sprague. Eric Bloss, Ryan Baritot, and David Bleier all ended up with draws. This week's Wrestler of the Week award goes to Keith Sinclair.

03/04 Penfield Modified B Starts Off Well
The Penfield Modified B Team started of the 2003-2004 season with good results in the match at Webster Spry. Doug Fogle and Kyle Semrau earned Wrestler of the Match honors. Doug posted two victories by pin and Kyle won two matches, one with a pin and one with a technical fall. Rich Battoglia also won two matches. Other winners were Steve Nettnin, Dave Wood, Joe Cicero, Eric Bloss, Austin Quinn, Nick Dawes, Mike Girard, Ryan Lawrence, and Brian Dorsey. Wrestler of the Week honors was earned by Mike Vacanti for his continuous hard work in practice. Our next match is Saturday January 17 at Merton Williams Middles School in Hilton.
