Kyle Maynard Inspires Penfield High School
Kyle Maynard spoke in front of the students and faculty at Penfield High School presenting his inspirational story today. Check out photos of the assembly in our albums section of this website.

Kyle was born March 24, 1986 with a rare disorder called, “Congenital Amputation,” leaving him with three joints; a neck and two shoulders. He has no elbows or knees. He measures just over 2 feet tall and weighs approximately 103 pounds. Despite his physical abnormalities, Kyle Maynard is one of the top high school wrestlers in Georgia (35-16), posting a 3-2 record at the 2004 Georgia High School Wrestling Championships and narrowly missing All-American status at the NHSCA National Wrestling Championships. He graduated from high school with a 3.7 GPA and will attend the University of Georgia this year.

However, as impressive as his academic and sport accomplishments are, it is Kyle’s attitude towards life that makes Kyle Maynard a truly unique person. Kyle does not think in terms of limitations, but only in accomplishments. One of Kyle’s favorite sayings is, “I know what I can do, and I know what I WILL do.” The attitude Kyle approaches life with is the result of numerous failures, the perseverance to overcome his limitations, and the loving, but strict care of his parents. Kyle Maynard won the 2004 ESPY for "Best Athlete with a Disability." To Learn more about Kyle visit his website at www.kmaynard.com.

Looking for Writers
It would be a great addition to this website if people could write articles on each of the wrestling matches they attend. We are not limited in length as a newspaper would limit us, so if writing is your thing please let me know by sending me an email.
