Peach Little League: Welcome
Peach Little League parents...
What an awesome opening day! All the teams looked great, the fields were perfect, the weather was beautiful and we had an excellent turnout for our opening day ceremony to kick off the 2013 season. After the first couple of weeks things are running really well and I have some very exciting news to share with you! The Board of Directors has approved 2 items that will add greatly to our experience down at Peach.
First, a "Wall Ball" structure will be built down behind the left field fence of Creek field. It will be between the Creek field scoreboard and the batting cage facility. There are 3 stakes in the ground now marking the approximate location. The main reason for the Wall Ball structure is to give the kids a larger, safer area to play and to make room for the second item - a new deck that will wrap around the right field corner of Wilkinson field. The deck will start in front of the concession stand and will wrap around the right field corner to just beyond the scoreboard of Wilkinson field. This new deck will have multiple levels and will allow for enhanced viewing of games on both Creek and Wilkinson fields. It will also provide more room for tables/chairs/picnic tables, which will give us more room for eating and will help to alleviate some of the congestion we have right in front of the concession stand. It will also turn an unusable and unsightly area into something that will definitely enhance our ability to watch games.
Will Barnes, with Barnes & Company Architects, has done an unbelievable job in drawing up the plans. He along with board members Will Johnson and Bradley Jones presented the plan to the BHAR (Historic district board) and received approval. The permitting process is finishing up quickly, and I am hopeful to have everything in place for construction to take place during Spring break. Soon we will be launching a capital campaign to friends and alumni of Peach Little League to help support the effort.

As you view these drawings, I hope you will be as impressed and as excited as I am about these exciting enhancements to Peach!
