Peabody Little Leagues: Welcome

Per Little League Baseball rules, one representative from each team (coach or manager) is required to attend the fundamentals training each year. Every coach and manager is required to attend the training at least once every three years.
This season there are 3 scheduled clinics to choose from. Coaches are encouraged to attend as many as they wish. There is no charge for these clinics.
PLEASE MAKE SURE TO SIGN THE ATTENDANCE SHEET AT EACH CLINIC TO ENSURE YOU GET CREDIT FOR ATTENDING
Sunday, March 11, Beverly: at the Beverly High School Field House, Sohier Road Beverly, MA 01917
This is a morning clinic, 8:30 am to 11:30 am.
Session 1 (8:30 am – 10:00 am) Presented by Extra Innings • Hitting • Fielding
Session 2 (10:00 am – 11:30 am) Presented by Dave Wilbur Beverly High School Varsity Coach • Organizing Practices • Pitching
Saturday, March 31 Milbury: Raymond Shaw Middle School 58 Elmwood Street, Milbury MA 01527.
Back by popular demand, this is a “Big Al” Clinic with morning and afternoon sessions organized by Little League ages.
MORNING TRAINING SESSION (coaches & managers of players 9-12 yrs) Learn how to teach the fundamental skills of the game and plan fun and effective practices. Experience Big Al`s “Teach it- Try it- Game it” approach! Season full of drills, games and fun activities for your players. Training targeted at baseball and softball coaches, managers and parents.
8:00 – 8:30 Registration and Introductions
8:30 – 12:30 Hands on Training Session
AFTERNOON TRAINING SESSION (coaches & parents of players 5-8 yrs) Learn how to introduce the skills of the game in a creative, fun and effective way. Experience Big Al`s complete practice planning approach that your players and their parents will love. Training targeted at coaches, managers and parents “rookies” and “veterans”.
12:30 – 1:00 Registration and Introductions
1:00 – 4:30 Hands on Training Session

12 Year old players will require an approved waiver from Little League Baseball **

Step 1 - start with registration fee:
8 years old and up: $110
Step 2 - Add $50 fundraising fee. This fee applies once per family, not per player.

T-Ball: $50
Family Cap: $200
Total of above two is registration charge for 2012

Each team is required to send at least one representative. Each manager and coach is required to attend once every 3 years. **

Peabody Little Leagues' Operating Rules requires that all Managers be certified by the National Youth Sports Coaches Association (NYSCA).
if you are a new manager or your certification has been inactive for more that 2 years, you must be certified.
To become NYSCA certified, simply complete the on-line certification program on the NYSCA Website
The cost of the training will be reimbursed by Peabody Little Leagues for any active manager or coach who successfully completed the certification.

Parents interested in being a minor league coordinator, manager or coach (T-ball, Coach Pitch, AA, AAA) in 2012 should contact INFO@PeabodyLittleLeague.org and let us know your name and age of child in the program.
