Monday, September 10 HOMECOMING PEP RALLY Homecoming Pep Rally scheduled for Friday night, 9/21/12 after practice. All football players and cheerleaders are asked to contribute for the food for our PEP Rally fun. See below.
All families are encouraged to stay and join in the fun at the PEP RALLY. TEAMS SHOULD BRING THE FOLLOWING: VARSITY & JV - $5.00 for hot dogs and buns. Please turn in to your Team Mom. Varsity- Paula Aggelopoulos and JV - Raina Lawler PEE WEES - 2 bags of chips. Turn into the Johnson Center SUPERS - 1 case water (24 bottles). Turn into the Johnson Center CHEERLEADERS - 1 dozen baked goods
Friday, September 7 HOMECOMING POSTERS Homecoming is scheduled for Saturday, 9/22/12. To help decorate the field we would like to recognize each football player and cheerleader in the program. To accomplish this, we ask that every child decorate a large poster board that will be hung along the fence. Be creative. POSTERS DUE AT FIELD FRIDAY, 9/21/12 FOOTBALL PLAYERS - create a poster that includes your name and jersey number in large letters using our team colors of red, white and blue. CHEERLEADERS - create a poster encouraging the team you cheer for which includes your name in large letters using our team colors of red, white and blue. These posters will be hung the morning of Homecoming olong the fence where the coaches normally park. (Obviously, there is no parking in that space on this day). Parents, kids and fans enjoy looking at them every year. Please help us keep up this Stars' tradition.
Wednesday, September 28 HOMECOMING DAY INFORMATION HOMECOMING DAY SATURDAY, 9/22/2012 GAME TIMES & PARENTS Parents should plan to be at the field at least 45 minutes before their child's game begins. Special introductions and presentations will be made before each game. We have tried to build in time in the schedule for this, but we do need to continue playing the games so times may vary a bit. HOMECOMING POSTERS To help celebrate all the fantastic football players and cheerleaders that are with the Stars this year, we ask you to help us by making a poster recognizing your son or daughter. POSTERS ARE DUE FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 2012. HAND THEM IN AT THE JOHNSON CENTER. Football Parents - Please help decorate a large poster board which at least includes your child's name and jersey number in large letters. We ask that you use our team colors of red, white and blue and be as creative as you can. All posters will be displayed along the fence. Cheerleading Parents - Please help decorate a large poster board encouraging their team (ex: Good Luck Palos Stars JV, etc.) We ask that you include your child's name in the poster and use our teams colors of red, white & blue also. Creativity is encouraged. All posters will be displayed along the fence. DECORATING THE FIELD Volunteers are needed to help decorate the field on the morning of Homecoming. We must hang all the posters, blow up balloons, decorate the bleachers. If interested please sign up in the Concession Stand. All must be completed before players arrive at 11:00am so the more volunteers we have the merrier it will be. Join us at the field at a time to be announced (but will start in the morning) to start the fun. Sunday, September 18 SHOW YOUR STARS' SPIRIT PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU STOP BY AND SEE OUR STARS' MERCHANDISE DURING HOME GAMES AND PRACTICE. THERE ARE T-SHIRTS, SHORTS, SWEATSHIRTS, LONG SLEEVED SHIRTS, RAIN PONCHOS, COATS. ITEMS CAN EITHER BE IN STOCK OR ORDERED. SOME T-SHIRTS ARE ON SALE FOR $10.00. STOP BY THE JOHNSON CENTER TO SHOP! GO STARS!
Sunday, September 18 PARKING FOR HOME GAMES Please be advised that for practice and home games families should only park their car in the front parking lot or the back parking lot(located behind the practice field). There is a gate in the back lot which takes you thru the practice field so as not to walk all the way around. There should be NO parking on the road along the side of the field. This is an actual street and entry way into the business next door. The Police do show up, especially on game days, to patrol this area and ticket as necessary or have cars towed. There must also be ample room at the front entrance for any emergency vehicle to make its way down the drive. Also, please be respectful of the Handicap Parking spaces. We do have a number of families that DO need these spots when they arrive at the field. Please share this with family and friends that may be coming to watch your son or daughter on game day. Wednesday, July 4 FOOTBALL BANQUET - SUNDAY, 11/18/12 Please save the date for our football banquet scheduled for Sunday, November 18, 2012. It is a very enjoyable afternoon and a great way to bring the season to a close. The banquet will be held at Niko's Restaurant at 7600 S. Harlem Ave. in Bridgeview, IL from 12pm - 5pm on Sunday, November 18, 2012. Team awards will be distributed first and then dinner will be served at 3:00pm. Tickets for football players and cheerleaders are included in your registration fee. Players/cheerleaders must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets for adults are $TBD and children are $TBD. Tickets can be purchased during Equipment Return Days. Days and times for equipment return will be announced soon. |
