The hard throwing lefty, whose velocity has been clocked as high as 92mph, chose Walters State over offers from Spartanburg Methodist, Chippola, Indian River CC, and Florence Darlington Tech. Sand Gnat/Clover RHP Jeremy Long committed to The Citadel coaching staff this evening. Long is a RHP with an excellent FB that has been clocked as high as 90mph. To go along with the FB, Jeremy also has an above average curveball. Jeremy chose the Bulldogs over heavy interest from Coastal Carolina and USC Upstate. Congrats to Jeremy and his family.

Matthews commits to USC!!!
Sand Gnat/White Knoll OF Adam Matthews made a verbal commitment to Coach Ray Tanner tonight. Adam becomes the 2nd commitment of the 2008 class for the Gamecocks. Adam began to recieve heavy interest from several Div. 1 schools after an excellent summer and fall for the Gnats. Matthews may very well be the fastest player in the state of SC, and has been timed in the 60 as low as 6.43. Matthews has also been clocked in the mid-80's off the mound. Congrats to Adam and his family!!!
