Pacific Youth Football League: Jim Thornton Sr. Invitational
Jim Thornton Sr. the godfather of youth football in Simi Valley, passed away in August 2007. Jim was a driving force in the PYFL since its inception in 1993 and with the Coastal Valley Conference before then.
To honor Jim's dedication to all youth athletes, in 2007 the PYFL debut the Jim Thornton Sr. Memorial Invitational Tournament, giving additional athletes the opportunity to play and experience post-season football, something that speaks strongly to Jim's dedication to youth football.
