PYBA: policies

Certain policies have been established which parents and players are expected to abide by in order to establish the following: - Create an enthusiastic and FUN atmosphere. - Promote parent/child interaction through the program as a social activity. - Development of players through teaching individual skills and TEAM concepts. - Character and sportsmanship development by responsibly balancing winning and individual player progress. - Provde learning skills for lifelong recreational enjoyment. VIOLATION OF ANY OF THE POLICIES BELOW MAY RESULT IN A SUSPENSION OR DISMISSAL FROM THE PYBA. - |
SAFETY
|
- Safety is the utmost importance and will not be compromised. The following rules are strictly enforced. - Players may not wear any jewelry while practicing or playing in a game. This includes rings, earrings, watches, necklaces or bracelets. Also includes pierced brows, lips, tongues etc. - Any player who is bleeding must leave the court and not return until the bleeding is stopped and the wound is satisfactoily treated. - Any attempt by any player to deliberatly injure anyone is grounds for suspension or expulsion from the program. - fighting will not be tolerated. Players fighting during a game will be ejected from that game and suspended for the next two games. If a subsequent fighting incident occurs the player will be expelled from the program. - No one is permitted to use or play on any equipment in the gyms. - No basketballs other than those belonging to the PYBA are allowed in the gyms. - A parent must accompany small children at all times. They are not allowed on any equipment, mats, or the basketball courts. |
GYM USE

- The use of the gyms is a privilage. - No food or drink is permitted in the gyms. - All participants including spectators are confined to the gym area only. - Spectators are to sit and remain on the oppisite side of the gym from the team benches.(Exception: Auxiliary gym) |
CONDUCT

- Players, parents and spectators are expected to conduct themselves with sportsmanship. - Anyone behaving in a manner which disrupts agame or practice must cease immediatly or be subject to ejection from the gym. - Verbal or physical abuse of game officals WILL NOT be tolerated. Offenders are subject to ejection from the gym and may be banned from further attendance. - An unexcused absence in practice will result in reduced playing time for the next game. |
UNIFORMS

- All players must wear the tee-shirt issued to them by the PYBA for all games. No player names, team names, or sponser names are to be added to game tee-shirts. |
TEAMS
|
- Travel teams will consist of the following: 6th grade boys "A", 5/6 grade girls team. Girl's teams will consist of both 5th and 6th grade girls. Travel team players MUST be a registered PYBA player. - There will be no other PYBA travel teams, all-star teams, etc. - Teams of the PYBA only play games, scrimmages, or practice with teams of the PYBA or sanctioned teams. The only teams that are allowed to play outside of the PYBA are PYBA travel teams. VIOLATIONS OF THE ABOVE POLICIES MAY RESULT IN A SUSPENSION OR DISMISSAL FROM THE PYBA. |
