Opening Day Information (Full Article)
Well, Saturday is the Day we have all been waiting for!!!! The 2009 Opening Day for PTYFC football teams and cheer squads! Thank you all for volunteering your time and patience. Let’s make this fun for the kids. Just a few quick notes:
- The National Anthem will be played before the first game in the a.m.
- Picture Day for Football - This Saturday, August 15. Schedules were sent out earlier. Basically, appear in the PMMS gym 1 hr and 15 min. before your scheduled game. Try to have the paperwork completed before then. If not, order forms will be available at the site.
Cheer pics are next Saturday, August 22.
-All extra jerseys must be returned to me. These things cost money and it
will make my Treasurer extremely happy to have them returned.
- Parking - No parking on grass ANYWHERE. Please pay attention to the signs that say NO PARKING, cars will be towed by MSDPT. Believe me, I know it happens.
- Smoking - Per MSDPT regulations, no smoking on MSDPT property. Smoking is allow outside the fences.
- No Pets per MSDPT regulations.
- Entrances - There are two. The one by the concession stand and the one that is further down by the 34 (third and fourth grades) fields.
I would suggest anyone using the 56 (fifth and sixth grades) fields use the front and
bigger gate and park at the middle school. The 34 field, you can either park at the middle
school or high school and use the smaller gate. FOR SECOND GRADE TEAMS: It will
be much easier, and closer, if you park at the high school and use the second gate.
The Second Grade Field is located directly adjacent to the 34 field. Parents will be
allowed to bring chairs and sit along the side furthest from the side street (the east side of
the field). Players and coaches only on the west side. Cheerleaders will cheer near the
end zones. This is the first year for this field.
- Extra mouthpieces will be available in the concession stand for $5 each.
- Restroom facilities are provided in PMMS by using the door closest to the 56 field. Take the hallway all the way to the back. Please do not let children roam the hallway unattended.
- DO NOT FORGET, we will briefly introduce the teams before the start of the game. This means when we introduce the teams, football and cheer are welcome to QUICKLY run onto the field to the center and then run back so we can get the games started on time (or soon thereafter...)
- Remember....this league is a rec league, anything and everything you say may be heard by the kids and they will act accordingly. Something you say or do, could be remembered years from now. Have fun out there! Remember water breaks. You need to provide your own water. The Concession stands cannot provide water. However, the Concession Stand does sell various drinks and eats.
- If you encounter any problems during the game, please find a Board Member. If you cannot find one, call my cell 626-8725. (Since it is noisy and I am usually doing something, if you get my vm, leave me a brief message – I do check quite frequently during game days) You can also go to the concession stand and they will locate someone for you.
- This is my last year as President of PTYFC. Let’s try to make it my most memorable and I mean that in the GOOD WAY! If you have questions, ask and Board member to get the answer. I’m always around.
