Hustlers' Car Club
Car clubs are a lost chapter in U.S. history books. Love of personalizing the automobile weaved together varying strands of society in the United States.
The Sinners and Crapshooters are thought to have been started about 1955 as racing fever was fueled by the new organized races. A couple of years later came the Butchers, Cherry Tears, Trimmers and Roadrunners. "We lived `American Graffiti,' " said Steve Kirby, a 60-year-old retired welder who was a member of the Hustlers.
Memories of former car club members recall friendly rivalries. "There was mutual respect between the clubs," said Bruce Bartlett, a Hustler. "There weren't any fights." Although Gibbs was a member of the Crapshooters and Fredi wore Butchers' colors, they worked together on Gibbs' roadster.
The Hustlers were known for holding regular dances at the National Guard Armory at 25th and Stewart. Revenue from the dances funded the club's race cars. Bartlett said alcohol wasn't permitted inside the Armory, but prohibition wasn't part of any club creed. Memories of Lucky Lager beer and nights cruising drive-ins such as the Round Up or the Tip Top brewed fond memories at a recent gathering of Southern Nevada's first drag racers. "The town was so wide open then," Fredi said, "your beer bottles would fall off the trays hanging on your door when you were at the drive-in."

Members are as individual as their T-Buckets and each individual has their strengths and specialties. The NTBA is the shinning soul of the members.

The Sin City MINI Club (SCMC) is a non-profit organization formed primarily as a social club for owners and enthusiasts of the MINI Cooper, Cooper S, and the classic mini. Anyone who holds an appreciation and interest in these cars may join. Don't have a MINI yet? No problem. Visit MINI USA and build your own.

The annual membership fee is modest and will also pay for club services such as this website. If you join us, there is no obligation to attend meetings or participate in any events, though the more people and MINIs attend, the more fun we will have.
We realize that Las Vegas residents have different schedules than people in other places, so we try to organize events for varying times and days to allow all of our members to attend club events.
We expect the majority of our membership to be residents of Clark County, which includes Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson, Boulder City, Summerlin, Laughlin, Mesquite and (almost) Pahrump. We also welcome MINI enthusiasts who may be motoring through on their way to Barstow to see the Bun Boy. While it is not required that you be a "local" to join the club, the majority of club events will take place within the Las Vegas area.

Antelope Valley Mopar Club
Over the Hill Gang Club - San Bernardino Chapter
This club was founded after a run to Lodi, CA in June of 1973. Tom Sterkel, a local Auto Upholsterer and fellow Street Rodders Craig Lake and John Pickel from San Diego, actually came up with the name and started the club. Tom started the San Bernardino Chapter, while Craig and John started the Chapter in San Diego. The name was taken from an early 1969 TV movie by the same name.
The name was originally meant to fit the cars and the loose association this club is known for, the name would eventually say as much about its members, as its members cars.
Over The Hill Gang - San Diego Chapter
 | | |
How did it all start?
Lets travel back to 1973 when the movies "American Graffiti" and "The Getaway" were released and the top songs were , Were an American Band, by Grand Funk Railroad, and Youre So Vain, by Carly Simon.
The club name actually developed out of two new groups who were forming Street Rod Clubs at the same time. One was in San Diego and the other in Berdoo. After those long drives back and forth to each others meetings, (Over the Hill), and an increase in local interest, "The Over the Hill Gang" was born.
The original plaques had the letters SCSRA on them. It stood for Southern California Street Rod Association. The original logo was drawn by the club founder, John Pickle, and represented two cars owned by Paul "Kip" Dunne. John remains active in the club and is planning this years anniversary reliability run.
Today, now known as "Over The Hill Gang-San Diego" we are 230 members strong and continue with pre-49 cars and proudly retain the original logo. You will see us at events everywhere in our yellow shirts. For our 30th year, we have a special anniversary logo that is on a black jacket.
In 2004, our 31st year, we will celebrate our signature event, The Streak. The Streak has been an on-going event from the beginning and has been held at Campland on the Bay since 1992. Every year its a sell out with over 400 cars and hundreds of people camping. Its known for a big raffle, live entertainment and campground parties.
Currently, "Over The Hill Gang-San Diego" is the Host Club for the Goodguys Rod & Custom Car Show held the first week of April at the Del Mar Fairgrounds.
Welcome to Over The Hill Gang-San Diego. Our unofficial motto, you gotta drive em.
Mahalo,
Martin Hibsch-President

Street Rods Unlimited
 | | |
Street Rods Unlimited was founded July, 1972. The founding members set forth these purposes for the club:
1. Promote the sport of street rodding through active participation with pre-49 street rods and specialty cars.
2. Provide mutual assistance to fellow street rodders.
3. Promote automobile safety.
4. In general, "To Have Fun With Cars".
During the mid-1980's, the club incorporated as Yesteryear Inc., dba/Street Rods Unlimited. Today, SRU is a family oriented group with members from all walks of life, living in San Bernardino, Los Angeles, and Orange counties. We also have associate members in Central California, Arizona, and Washington State. We are a non-profit, mutual benefit corporation.
Over the years, Street Rods Unlimited has sponsored a variety of events in Southern California. The largest, and most popular, was the Yesteryear Drags and Rod Run started in 1975 at Irwindale Raceway in Irwindale, California. This event drew participants from all over the west coast to compete down the 1/4 mile drag strip. When Irwindale closed, the event was moved to the Orange County International Raceway (OCIR) in Tustin, California. This location drew a record number of cars to show and/or race as well as record crowds for the one-day event. Unfortunately OCIR also closed, and the event moved to LA County Raceway in Palmdale, California where it became a two-day event. The last Yesteryear Drags was held in 1988.

Inland Mopars
The counsel was created about the summer of 1995. It was needed to keep the calendar of car shows straight. With over forty car clubs in the area, to many were having big shows on the same day. So they were kind of stepping on each other and defeating the purpose of charity car shows. Then of course they have a lot of small car shows, which most aren't for charity. They're mostly held at small hamburger joints.
So-Cal Galaxies Car Club
Our Club was founded in 1991 to further the enjoyment and preservation of the Ford Galaxie Family of Cars, and the full-size Mercury Line of Cars.
We typically meet the last Sunday of the Month (unless there is an event or holiday that we want to schedule around) See our meeting schedule or upcoming events schedule for dates.
Our Next car show will be held June 15th at the Center Street Promenade in Anaheim.
Camaro Club of San Diego
The Camaro Club of San Diego was established in August 1993 to generate fellowship, provide information, technical assistance and share the interest of the Chevrolet Camaro. Our main goal is to preserve, restore and maintain the Camaro and its history. This includes all styles: stock, restored, original or modified, from the 1st generation (1967-1969) to the current F-body performance cars.
Classic Car Club of America
The Classic Car Club of America was born later that year, In March of 1952, entertainer Herb Shriner invited the fledgling club to exhibit at the International Motor Sport Show held at the Grand Central Palace in New York City. A 1931 Cadillac V-16 All Weather Phaeton was spruced up and set up on the balcony - with a recruiting table alongside. Before the show, CCCA membership stood at twenty. By the end of the show, seventy five more enthusiasts had been signed up. And the Club roster more than doubled again in the next six months. On September 17th, 1952, the Classic car Club of America was incorporated with 212 founding members.
In January of 1953, Volume I, Number 1 of The Classic Car magazine came off the press. That July the club's first show - The Grand Classic - was held at Washington's Crossing State Park in New Jersey. In August the first tour - the CARavan - wended its way from the East Coast to Detroit where the Club was the guest of the Packard Motor Car Company, whose hospitality included a trek to Utica where the Classics were exercised on the famous Packard proving ground track.
Already the AACA had changed its Class 19 designation to "Classic Cars." The nice thing about an idea whose time has come is how quickly the word gets around and is cheerfully accepted. The CCCA proceeded from strength to strength. By 1960 membership passed the 2500 mark. Today membership numbers over 5600 worldwide. The club is headquartered in Des Plaines, IL, near Chicago. But, intrinsically, the CCCA is everywhere that Classic Cars are celebrated.

 | | |
At the new '57 Heaven Museum in Branson Missouri, you can walk down memory lane through this unparalleled collection of the finest examples of American made steel, all from the year 1957.
Comprised of over 70 cars, the collection is the brainchild of Glenn E. Patch, a media entrepreneur who has combined his love for classic automobiles with a comprehensive collection of 50s rolling sculpture that preserves and honors the era. Complementing the classic automobile museum are period exhibits of an authentic 1950s kitchen, living room and other examples of the roaring 50s lifestyle exhibits, all reconstructed in settings that capture the mood and spirit of the period. The museum features a childrens room with an authentic display of hundreds of childrens toys from the 50s and a gift shop with thousands of unique souvenirs and collectibles.
The auto collection combines the bold, beautiful and powerful in a mixture of Chevy Bel-Air convertibles, Corvettes and two-seater Thunderbirds, Imperials, Fords, Lincolns, Cadillacs, Buicks, Olds, Pontiacs and Packards. At the 57 Heaven Museum you can see them parked at the Diner, on Main Street, or catch a glimpse of the action at the Drive-Inn Theatre. No where in the world have finer examples of these museum quality 1957 vintage automobiles been assembled in a single facility.
