Congratulatios to the Port St. Lucie Soccer Club's U 9 Girls Winners and Champions of the U9/U10 Division at the T.C.U. Tournament held in January. The team has been together for only one year and they have displayed excellent team work and skills for a young team. We are very proud of their efforts and talent and the coaches Jason Kirk and Jeff Helmkamp that made it happen. Keep up the good work.
U17 LADY HURRICANES WIN REGION A CHAMPIONSHIP
The Ladies won the Region A Division 1 Championship with a 2-1 victory over West Pines United. They started the tournament with a 2-0 win over the Planation Eagles and followed with a 4-0 win over Coconut Creek. They played the Parkland Predators in the semi-finals and defeated them 2-1 to advance to the finals against West Pines.
As Winners of the Region A title, the team advanced to the President's Cup at the Seminole Soccer Complex in Orlando. In thier first game they defeated TOF Soccer 2-0 to advance to the finals. In the finals, their luck ran out and they lost to Stetson FA 2-0 to finish runner in the State of Florida. This was an amazing accomplishment considering they did not win a single game in their regular FLUGSA season.
The team was coached by Donald Logue and Adam Emmanuel. Way to go Lady Hurricanes.
U 13 LADY HURRICANES FINISH 2ND IN REGION "A" TOURNAMENT
The team had some early troubles during the season due to many personal issues that plagued
the team. However, they kept pushing and ended up on the winning side. The team finished 2nd in the Region a Div. 2 Tournament. On their way to the final game, they tied Palm Beach United 2-2. In their second game they beat Bocca 4 - 0 and in their third game beat Miami Strike force 3 - 1. In the Semi Finals they won in sudden death overtime. In the final game they played a great first half, but unfortunately they could not keep it going and lost the game
4-1.
I was a great turn around from a lackluster start to the season where they did not win a game in the regular season. The Dedication and hard work of the team and the Coaching Staff led by Donald Logue paid off at the end. The Club is proud of their accomplishments.
Under 14 rec. Girls 2004 - 2005 Season
U14 GIRLS REC. GO UNDEFEATED IN DIVISION TOURNAMENT!
The Swan Park U14 girls ORANGE CRUSHERS went undefeated in their last 8 games, including the 5 game division tournament. Outstanding play by the team did not allow any goals to be scored upon them throughout the 5 game tournament.
This is a team where 14 players became 14 friends. Somewhere along the way, they became a team. They believed in themselves and believed in each other. On the field they told each other, we can do it. And they did!
PSL Soccer Club, Coach Tony, Vernon and team mom Kim congratulate each of you on an outstanding season! Team members Eloise, Samantha, Brittney, Breana, Hayley, Jessica M, Katie, Emily, Milissa, Erika, Jessica S, Rachel, Jannet, Kristina.

U12 COMP. GIRLS WIN THE BREVARD TOURNAMENT
From a Team that started the season with just enough players to field a team to the Champions of the Brevard Tournament. Awesome accomplishment by a Lady Hurricane Team that dominated, winning the tournament without a lost.
The Lady Hurricanes Coached by Ed Kelly beat The Golden Isle United team from Georgia 3-1, The Davie Raptors twice, both times by a score of 4 - 1 and The Three Lions by 3 - 1 in the finals.
It was a total team effort, but some outstanding play must be acknowledged. Caroline Duran scored 5 goals and Ashley Skelly scored 6 goals, two goals coming in the final game. Christine Barker was a defense force and with Jessica in the Midfield; Goals were hard to come by for the other teams. Jessica was injured in the semi final game, but still played all but five mins. of the final with a taped up sprained ankle.
It would seem that Brevard canceled there Hurricane Alert too soon. In PSL the Hurricane Season is never over. Congratulations from everyone in the P.S.L. Soccer Club to the team. Well done, Ladies.

On Sunday March 24, with the Port St. Lucie Soccer Club's President, Mike Gazzalla, present at Weston Regional Park, 2 of its Hurricanes teams, won their final Region "A" Division I match, which qualifies them to play at "PRESIDENT'S CUP" against the winners of the other 3 Florida Regions ("B", "C" & "D") on April 6 & 7 in Fort Myers.
At 11:00 AM the Lady Hurricanes Under 15, coached by Josie & Pete Scanna, won their game in dramatic fashion against the Plantation Eagles; the sudden death OT goal was a masterpiece that started with a great cross by Gillian Michel that was headed into the net by Mindy DeCara.
PSL took the lead in the first half with another goal by Mindy DeCara. In the second half, the Eagles tied the game. The Lady Hurricanes went ahed again with J.J. Hudson, but the Eagles tied it for the second time.
The winning goal was a great accomplishment for a team that has been together for 6 years. Other instrumental players on the U15 Lady Hurricanes Roster are: Amber Mitchem, Kailey Mills, Erica Boatwright, Melissa Peraset, Amy Frink, Reshma Malaney, Tarin King, Rakia Hamilton, Brittany Coccaro, Donia Mustafa & Crystal Rinaldi.
Following the victory by the U15 Girls, at 1:00 PM, the Under 17 Boys, coached by Jack DiGiorgio, took the field against Homestead United, a team that the previous Saturday beat the Hurricanes 3-1 in Port St. Lucie in the knockoff round.
The PSL boys, in a game played with discipline and self control, returned the favor to Homestead and beat them 3-1.
The Hurricanes took the lead in the 44' minute with a great header by Gilbert Basurto on a corner kick taken by Chris Olah. In the 15' minute of the second half, Homestead tied it up. With time running out, in the 36' minute, Kevin Manning took a shot from 35 yards out that hit the chest of the keeper and ended in the net. Three minutes later, assisted by Guillermo Orozco (playing the field after spending most of the game in goal), Tonio DiGiorgio sealed the victory with a shot that entered the upper corner on the right of the Homestead goalkeeper.

The LADY HURRICANES U15 ARE DIVISION I STATE CHAMPIONS!!!
The Port St. Lucie Lady Hurricanes U15, Winners of Region A Division I, have won President's Cup / Chevy Cup this past weekend in Fort Myers, by winning all 3 games played against the representatives of the other 3 Florida Regions.
In the first match they faced off against the Ormond Beach Waves, winners of Region B; because of "paper work technicality", the Hurricanes played most of the first half with 8 players, than 9 and finally with 11. At the conclusion of the first half, they were down 0-1. In the second half they were able to complete the "paperwork" and the 4 players not utilized in the first half, gave the Hurricanes that spark needed to win the match 2-1. The goals were scored by Gillian Michel and Mindy DeCara.
The same evening, "The GIRLZ" faced the winners of Region D, the Wave Football Club and after being down (again) 0-1, they came back strong by scoring 4 answered goals to win the game 4-1. Goals by Mindy DeCara (2), Crystal Rinaldi and Taryn King.
On Sunday afternoon, in their last game, "The GIRLZ" beat the winners of Region C, the Palm Harbor Nighthawks; the lone goal by Mindy DeCara, gave the State Title to the Hurricanes, and also the unbeaten streak throughout the entire Regionals and State tournaments. FIRST-YEAR GOALIE, Amber Mitchem, had numerous saves and allowed only two goals in the State Finals.
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE HURRICANE "GIRLZ", FLORIDA YOUTH SOCCER ASSOCIATION DIVISION I STATE CHAMPS!!!
The other Port St. Lucie team that went to President's Cup this past weekend, end up taking third place. The Under 17 Boys played very well in their 3 games, but came up short in winning the Cup. The Hurricanes won the first match against Homestead 2-1 (Tonio DiGiorgio & Fabrizio Scaccia the goal's scorers), lost against Largo United 2-4, after closing the first half 2-0 (goals by Mario Navarro & Fabrizio Scaccia) and lost the third match 1-2 against Temple Terrace Spirit (Omar Duran the goal scorer). Note: in this last game the MVP was the Spirit goalkeeper...; you can imagine how many chances our boys had during the game.
