9/10 Baseball All-Star Game Highlights

Game 1:  PSJ vs IRC   6/30/09

PSJ 9/10 division played through intermittent light rain to defeat IRC 18-1.  Pitching for PSJ was Connor Giles who held IRC to 3 hits and 1 run ending the game striking out all three IRC batters in the last inning.  Big hitters for PSJ were Tyler Topa and Clay Owens.  Tyler launched a 3 run homer over the left field fence in the bottom of the second inning to put PSJ ahead in the second inning.  Clay Owens was robbed of a towering homerun over the center field fence as it was gobbled up by the big green monster holding Owens to a double.  Tyler and Clay weren't the only kids with hot bats as PSJ had solid hits by Sage Perez,  Chris Sewell, Riley McDougal, Andrew Lewis and a handful of other kids.

Game 2:  PSJ vs Mims  7/2/09

PSJ defeated Mims in a 19-2 victory.  Sage Perez was the starter pitcher for PSJ and did a fantastic job.  He was unhittable.  When PSJ jumped to a 15-0 lead in the 2nd inning, Sage was relieved by Riley McDougal followed by Andrew Lewis and Tyler Topa.  PSJ had the bats going with virtually everyone hitting the ball.  Chris Sewell hit a shot to left center for a stand-up double, but just kept running and a bad throw to third resulted in him scoring.

Game 3:  PSJ vs Rockledge 7/5/09

PSJ lost to Rockledge 15-1.    Connor Giles was the starter pitcher for PSJ and was relieved by Sage Perez, followed by Tyler Topa, followed by Andrew Lewis.  It seemed that whatever PSJ served up, Rockledge hit.  Tyler Topa hit a double up the middle and Trevor Young hit a ball deep into center field.

Playoff Game:  PSJ vs MI  7/7/09

PSJ was defeated by MI 12-4.  Andrew Lewis pitched 3 innings for PSJ and was relieved by Tyler Topa.  Clayton Owens closed for PSJ pitching the 6th inning.  Big hitters for PSJ were Clayton Owens and Tyler Topa.  Clayton hit a stand alone homerun while Topa hit a two run homerun bringing Connor Giles and himself in.  Sage Perez hit two shots up the middle for solid singles and Connor Giles hit a shot up the middle scoring an RBI for PSJ.
