Thurs., July 10, 2008: The PRLL Boys' 11 year-old team began their District 18 tournament with a close 6-5 triumph over New City American. Danny Campbell had the walk-off RBI single for the victors, who play the West Nyack team on Saturday, July 12 at 6pm at Dexter Field (Germonds Park) in West Nyack.
Sat., July 12: The team dropped a 10-2 decision to a strong West Nyack team. Their next game is Sunday, July 13 against Congers at 8pm at the West Nyack fields in Dexter Park.
Sunday, 7/13: The 11's eliminated Congers, 13-4 tonight. JC Sabino was the hitting star (3 for 4). Nick Capote, Danny Campbell and Brian Tarsnane had 2 hits each. Kevin Murphy got the win. For the rest of the schedule, see the bracket for the 10/11 District 18 tournament (click here).
Tues., 7/15: PR - 6 Nyack - Valley Cottage - 0 ..... John Sabino pitched a 3-hit gem to shut out NVC. Sabino, Thomas Armour, Nick Capote all went 2-3 with 2 RBI's. PR will play Stony Point wed. the 16th @ PM at W. Nyack.
Wed., 7/16: PR - 8 - Stony Point - 5 ..... Michael Murphy pitched 5 strong innings. Nick Capote hit a long 3-run home run in the 3rd inning. Danny Campbell went 2-4 and Matt Neroda had 2 RBI's on a big 5th inning hit. The 11's will play W.Nyack on Fri. 7/18 @ PM at W.Nyack.
Fri. 7/18: PR - 6 W. Nyack - 4; JC Sabino pitched a complete game giving up only 6 hits. Sabino also went 3-3 at the plate. Pat Burns went 3-4 and Nick Capote another long home run his 2nd of the tournament. Matt Neroda made an outstanding defensive play at 3rd in the 5th inning to shut down W.Nyack. PR Will play again on Sat. 7PM @ SOLL against Haverstraw for the championship for the losers bracket.
Sat., 7/19: PR, 9 - Haverstraw, 4: Not as easy as the score sounds. The game was tied 3-3, and remained that way until the 10th inning, when PR finally broke out the bats. Mike Murphy held the Haverstraw offense down for 5 innings to earn the win. The big inning was keyed by big hits from Brian Tarsnane, Matt Neroda, Bryan (Bubba) Kondracki and Nick Capote. The PR defense, particularly shortstop Danny Campbell, played excellent defense. The team plays South Orangetown on Monday, July 21 at 7pm at South Orangetown. If they win, the final game will be played on Tuesday, July 22 (location to be determined).
Tues. 7/22: The team lost to South Orangetown and was eliminated from D-18 competition. PR played 8 games in the tournament, winning six, and the boys did a great job.
