SUNDAY, JULY 22:
CHAMPIONSHIP GAME: Pearl River, 7 - Stony Point, 1: Katherine Gilbride of PR threw a 3-hitter and struck out 12 in leading Pearl River to the ABMT Championship. Maria Stokes, who carried a big bat for the entire tournament, had two hits and two RBI. Sarah Vinci had a hit and scored three times. Courtney Ocasal got things going by leading off the game with a base hit and scoring the first run. Maggie Davin hit the ball hard, lining out to the second baseman, then singling and scoring in the fourth inning. The entire lineup put the bat on the ball, as the PR team only struck out once in the game. Samantha Dowen, who played well all tournament long, had two hits for Stony Point. Alyssa Williams scored the SP run, and pitched a good game, keeping the ball in the strike zone and not giving up a single walk. Mia Mancuso had the other SP hit.

SATURDAY, JULY 21:
SEMI-FINAL: Stony Point, 15 - Clarkstown, 14: The two teams traded big inning after big inning, and, with Clarkstown leading, 13-10, after 4 innings, Stony Point put up its last markers with 5 runs in the top of the 5th inning, taking a 15-13 lead. At that point, their task was to stop Clarktown's potent offense. A tired SP pitcher Samantha Dowen reached down and threw her best inning of the game, retiring Clarkstown 1-2-3, with a little help from her left fielder Krissy Johnson, who ran back to make a terrific catch off the bat of Mallory McFadden. When SP failed to score in the 6th, they again had to hold onto the tenous two-run lead, but once again Dowen responded, giving up only singles to Clarkstown's Mary Kechejian (who had two hits and scored three runs in the game) and Kelsey Smith, but then retiring the side with a narrow margin of victory.
Linda Mullin (2 hits) scored three runs for SP, and Kim Sand, Dowen and Alyssa Williams each had three hits and scored two runs. For Clarkstown, Erin Kelly had three hits, and McFadden and Kechejian each scored 3 runs and had 2 hits.
Pitching: SP: Dowen (5 innings); Clarkstown: Sarah Semmel (5 innings); Melanie Lerche (1 inning).

SO loaded the bases in the first inning, but failed to score, as nanuet third baseman Corson snared a line drive to kill the rally. There were several other good defensive plays by both teams, including Jenna Conroy of Nanuet and Meagan Trozzo of SO.
Clarkstown, 19 - Stony Point, 9 (5 innings): Clarkstown applied steady offensive pressure, scoring either 3 or 4 runs in every inning (except the fifth, when they scored 5 runs). Erin Kelly and Carly Glazer scored four runs each. Linda Mullen of Stony Point had a double and scored 2 runs.

Gilbride (3 walks and an error-assisted homerun) scored 4 runs. Angela Rendina (double, 2 RBI) had 2 hits, and was robbed of a third hit on a sparkling defensive play by Nanuet shortstop Brooke Madry (the second of her two great plays in the game). The Nanuet defense also featured fine plays by second baseman Nicole Vitale (line drive), first baseman Kaitlyn Strickland (scoop), pitcher Maeve Dooley (knocked down two line drives, which then became outs) and centerfielder Nicole Coiro (alert force play of a PR runner at second, after a hit).
