Yankees and AAA Tigers both play well in Tournaments of Champions

YANKEES REACH SEMI-FINAL OF TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS IN HAVERSTRAW:

The Major Boys Champion Yankees, in the semi-finals of the Tournment of Champions at Haverstraw, lost to a strong Ramapo team, 6-4, on Friday, June 29.  Ramapo had a long 3-run HR in the 5th inning to supply the difference.  Both teams played a solid game. PRLL was well-represented by the Yankees and their fans.
The Major Boys Champion Yankees had previously defeated Nyack-Valley Cottage, 13-1 on Tuesday 6/26 to reach the semi-finals of the Tournment of Champions at Haverstraw.  J. Tedesco threw a 2-hitter and struck out 14. R. Masley slugged a 2-run HR, and M. O'Connell rapped out 4 hits.

TIGERS IN FINALS OF TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS
MINORS TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS (Nanuet, N.Y.)

Monday, July 2:   The AAA Tigers, PRLL's representative in the McRobbie Tournament of Champions in Nanuet, reached the tournament finals by marching through the winners' bracket with a 4-0 record.  They play either West Nyack or Ramapo on Monday, July 2 (and, if necessary, Tuesday, July 3 - the Tigers need only one win) at 7 pm for the championship.
The Ramapo Yankees extracted their revenge on Pearl River with a 9-7 win in Game 1 of the Finals.  The next evening, Ramapo completed their comeback by again downing the Tigers. It marked the third straight Minors T of C title for Ramapo.

Sat., June 30:  The Undefeated PR Tigers beat the undefeated Ramapo Yankees 6-4 in the semi final game in the minor league tournament of champions at Nanuet. The Tiger pitchers Conor Gilbride, Danny Campbell gave up 3 hits and "The Closer" John Muldoon wrapped up the Yankees. Michael Murphy and Conor Gilbride went 2 for3, but the big hit came from the bat of Peter Dolan, a 2 run double to give the Tigers the lead.  The Tigers play in the Finals on Monday at 7:00pm.

Thursday, June 28:    The Tigers beat the Stony Point Red Sox, 16-4, behind solid pitching from Mike McCoy, Mike Murphy and Danny Campbell.  Each of them also had 4 hits, and Matt Zoccalli and Conor Gilbride added two hits each.

Monday, June 25:   The Tigers defeated Haverstraw, 11-6, with a combined 2-hitter from Conor Gilbride and Danny Campbell.  Mike Mastrovito, Logan McIntyre, Matt Zoccalli, Mike Murphy and Campbell each had 2 hits.

Sunday, June 24:  The Tigers won their opener, 10-0 against Tuxedo Park, highlighted by a sparkiling no-hitter from Mike McCoy.  John Muldoon and Ryan Cassidy were the hitting stars.

"The winners in life think constantly in terms of I can, I will, and I am. Losers, on the other hand, concentrate their waking thoughts on what they should have or would have done, or what they can't do." - Dennis Waitley
