There are three seniors this year on the Poca High School Volleyball Team 2004. The team has had a pretty good year. They have all practiced very hard and won many games. They came in 2nd to Winfield at the Putnam Co. Tourny, which was a close match. The last reg. season game was a Quad match which the Dots beat the St. Albans team.
The Poca Dots have alot of talent on this years team they have come along way in the last 4 years. Great job this year on your season girls! Good luck next season.

2002 Poca vs. S.A.
Poca Varsity Volleyball played S.A. Thurs. evening at Poca. The Dots held thier own playing hard and as a team. They won one of the matches against SA. They did pretty good, but not enough to win it all. Great job girls you still did great keep it up youll see more wins coming!
2002 Poca vs. Winfield
Poca Lady Dots Volleyball played Winfield at Poca on Tues. evening. Poca came out strong playing great and keeping up with Winfield.
The Dots have been practicing hard which showed. Poca kept Winfield on their toes not letting them take too much.
Varsities last match struggled with frustrations of working so hard and not seeing the wins. Better luck next time girls keep working hard in practice.
JV played afterwards and did great. Most have never played before and practiced showed. The work very hard to learn all the new lingo of Volleyball, they are doing great, keep up the good work Poca!
Good luck in your next game.

Mon. Sept. 10th 2001 the Dots JV traveled to Buffalo. They played Buffalo the first two games, which they did pretty good for most of them never playing before. They are improving and working hard at practices. Poca also played Winfield two games which the dots didnt pull it off , Winfield was a bit too stronge. All the girls played hard and got some great experience. Great job girls.

Poca High School Girls Volleyball Roster 2002
The roster will be updating soon, as the I get the updated players.

HITTER COVERAGE
This drill preferably requires 12 players, but can be done with less. Six on one side in serve receive positions and two blockers in each of the three blocking zones on the other side. The coach tosses a ball to the serve receive side who plays out the ball, with so many blockers chances are the ball will be blocked, making sure that the defensive players cover their hitters well. If the blocked ball is picked up, lay it out. If the ball is blocked, the coach who is now standing behind the blocker who made the block, immediately tosses over another ball to be covered as though it has been Blocked.Do this 2-5 times in a row. Repeat a few times and switch front to back and make sure to mix players who have just been blocking.
