HS Boys Regional Semifinal Preview
HS Boys Regional Semifinal Preview March 5, 2008 Cathedral senior Jordan Gafa had two goals in the first round of regionals. Div. I No. 7 Poway (21-2-4) vs. No. 3 Fresno Roosevelt (20-4-5), 5 p.m. at Roosevelt Poway already knocked off second-seeded Saddleback on Tuesday in penalty kicks and heads into Thursday's game with momentum. Ian Weinberg has been put to the PK test twice in the last two games and proved himself worthy to protect the Titans' net. Peter Katakalidis and Collin Wooster each found the net in regulation for the Titans during round one and will continue to apply offensive pressure. Roosevelt comes in on a nine-game winning streak. Scorers Omar Santoyo, Edgar Silva and Edar Sanchez will attempt to counteract the Titans offense and give Gunnar Emery and Zach Olow something to keep them busy.
