CORONADO – Senior sweeper Zach Olow didn't know what to expect.
He wasn't sure how the Poway High soccer team would respond after losing 15 seniors to graduation. That usually means a rebuilding season is in the works.

Not for the Titans. Not after a 2-0 victory over Mission Bay last night clinched the Coronado Tournament championship for the second straight year.
“I was skeptical about this team,” Olow said. “We have a good team. We stuttered in our first game, but I like the way we're playing.”
Poway (5-0) expected a few bumps, but fluid soccer by a handful of underclassmen and steady guidance by the seniors have given Titans coach Gene Morris less to worry about.
“I'm impressed how these guys have responded,” Morris said. “I don't think we're rebuilding anymore. These guys knew they would be compared to last year's team. Now they're realizing they can trust in what they're doing.”
Poway, the defending San Diego Section Division I champion and Southern California Regional runner-up, held possession for most of the match against Mission Bay (3-3).
Poway goalkeeper Keith Kline finished with his fourth straight shutout after missing the first game of the season. Poway hasn't allowed a goal since a 3-2 win against Eastlake in the opener.
Tony Nguyen gave the Titans a 1-0 lead in the ninth minute, heading the ball into the net off a free kick from Olow.
Brian Budniewski scored on a header seconds before halftime, sending the ball to the left of Bucs goalkeeper Tyler Jonesvia.
Budniewski was one of four juniors starting for Poway last night.
That included Alex Henry, who scored six goals in the first four games.
“They know (Olow) and I have confidence in them,” Morris said of the underclassmen. “Now they are beginning to have confidence in themselves. I don't know what else to expect
