PFWC BOARD OPENINGS
This year there are quite a few people who are "retiring" from the PFWC Board. We would like to thank John Healy & Mary Healy who "semi-retired" last year and Tom Steinbacher and Judy Wolfram for the many hours that they dedicated to our wrestlers and to the Club as a whole. Some positions have been ably filled (thank you, Kim Kliefoth!) but there are still "big shoes" to fill! If you are interested in volunteering to help the PFWC at the Board level, please send your interest to audreykortick@comcast.net. -------------------------------------- Spartan Open Tournament - Saturday, March 14th @ St. Marks High School in Wilmington, DE:

Club Information and Objective
Club Information and Objective. The Pennsbury Falcon Wrestling Club was established in 1977 by Joe Kiefer, Mike Klein and John Kopack. It is dedicated to the development of youth in grades K - 8th by introducing them to the sport of wrestling. Our objectives are to offer youth an opportunity to learn and participate in wrestling, teach sportsmanship, conduct, and fairness of mind, develop healthier bodies and physical (neuro-muscular) skills for later life and to develop competitive spirit and love of competition. We are a member of the Bux-Mont Association.Practices start in late October and continue until the end of the season in February. Wrestling matches begin in January and continue through February, Experienced wrestlers may continue in advanced tournaments into April or early May. Wrestlers are broken into practice groups based on their age, weight, and experience. There are usually two practices a week held in the Pennwood Middle school boy’s gym. Practices start with stretching, strength and conditioning, and then move to instructional drills and open wrestling. The younger groups often end the practice with a game to keep things fun. Interested parents are invited to join the wrestlers on the mat and assist with drills. This year we will divide our entire club into several teams and begin matches against each team. Matches will held on Friday nights from 6pm – 9pm at Pennsbury High School West with staggered start times and/or Saturday mornings from 8:00am to 12:00pm. The top three PFWC teams will receive an award. We also have a PFWC team member’s only tournament at the end of the season with awards going to individual wrestlers. We will schedule home and away exhibition matches against area clubs such as Council Rock, Hopewell, Robbinsville, PAL and others. You will be asked to sign up for these matches. Prior to each match, coaches from the opposing teams meet to setup matches. If possible, up to three matches per wrestler are scheduled depending on the opposing team's roster. Coaches attempt to match wrestlers as close as possible based on experience, age and weight. We will suggest several tournaments that you may choose to attend. We will also compete in a couple of team duals that you will have to wrestle off for to make the team. There also may be one or two Bux-Mont team duals that you will have to wrestle off for to make the team. Lastly, we have a great end of season banquet to finish off the season. Tuesday, November 13
