THE TIGNISH ACES ARE ISLAND CHAMPS!!!
In front of an enormous crowd at the Simmons Sports Centre on Thursday night, the Tignish Aces put together a flawless performance en route to a 4-0 win and the Island Championship. This was the first time all season that the explosive Falcons were shutout. The Aces will go on to represent Prince Edward Island in the Atlantic Championships in Yarmouth Nova Scotia on April 11-13.
Thursday night's game was a great conclusion to a great season in the PEI Minor Junior Hockey League. The league seems to be getting bigger and more competitive every year and one can only expect it to continue to grow next year. Congratulations to the Tignish Aces and thanks to all teams involved in a great season. See you next year!

Aces Force Seventh and Deciding Game
The Aces would not allow the Sherwood Falcons to celebrate the PEI Minor Junior League title in Tignish on Friday night. The Aces dominated the Falcons 8-3 in game 6 of the Island Final. The Aces had scoring from seven different players in Friday nights game, including two by Adam Everett and the winning goal by Ryan LeClair at 4:40 of the second. This win set up a dramatic seventh game. The date and time have not yet been finalized.

Aces Extend Series
In a very entertaining fifth game, the Tignish Aces were able to pull out a 6-4 win on Tuesday night and send the Island Final series back to Tignish. The winning goal was scored midway through the third period by Joe McDougal on a well placed backhand that went just under the cross bar. Joey Keough sealed the deal with an empty net goal with 15 seconds left. Game six will be on Friday night at 8pm at the Tignish Centennial Arena. The Falcons still lead the series 3-2.

Falcons Get Big Win in Tignish
The defending Island Champion Sherwood Falcons are one win away from successfully defending their title. The Falcons were able to end Tignish's unblemished home playoff record with a 7-3 win on Sunday afternoon. The Falcons were once again led by their captain Ryan Anstey (3-2) who now has eight goals in the last two games. This was a rough affair in which five fighting majors were issued in the third period. The Falcons will get the chance to close out this series on Tuesday night at home. Game time is 8:30pm.

Falcons Take Series Lead With OT Win
The Sherwood Falcons regained their series lead on Saturday afternoon with a 5-4 overtime win in Game #3 of the Island Final. The winning goal was scored by Ryan Anstey, after receiving a pass from Mark Caudle on a 2-on-1 early in overtime. Anstey scored all 5 goals for Sherwood and Chadwick Murnaghan assisted on all 5. Game #4 will go tomorrow afternoon at 3pm in Tignish.

Aces Return the Favour
The Tignish Aces were able to thump the Sherwood Falcons in Game #2 Thursday night by the same score they were beaten by in Game #1. The Aces won 8-3 to tie the series at one. Ryan LeClair (2-2), Shawn Shea (2-2), and Joey Keough (2-1) led the Aces who had 4 alternate players in to fill up their shortened bench. Game #3 goes on Saturday afternoon at the Cody Banks Arena at 2pm.

Falcons Dump Aces in Game #1
It was a close game for the first two periods, but in the end the Sherwood Falcons were able to come out with an 8-3 win in the opening game of the best-of-seven Island Final on Tuesday night. The Aces ran into penalty trouble in the third which enabled the Falcons to lengthen their lead.
Game #2 will go on Thursday night in Tignish, where the Aces are 5-0 in the playoffs.
