Premier Travel/Elite College Exposure - 16U and 18U
These Pride teams endeavor to play and compete with the best teams in the Great Lakes region. The objective of this level is to participate in College Exposure events/tournaments, encourage participation in college exposure camps, nurture lines of communication with college scouts and recruiters, and play in a World Series/National Tournament each summer. We will play in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois. Anticipate playing at least 60-80 games per year, including indoor winter scrimmages and tournaments. The team will practice year round and consistent attendance at practices and games is expected. This is a high profile, high commitment, high visibility level of the Pride program. All of our premier players have earned spots on their respective high school teams.
Premier Travel
Our residency policy now allows for the inclusion of players outside the Plymouth-Canton Community at this level of play.
These Pride teams endeavor to play and compete with the best teams in the Great Lakes region. We will play in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois, and possibly qualify to play in the “World Series” in the first week of August. A Premier Travel team will play in 60-80 games per year, including indoor winter scrimmages and tournaments. You will compete with the best softball players in the Plymouth/Canton area to win a spot on a Premier Travel team.
Community Travel
These Pride teams compete with other travel softball teams from the Western Wayne County and the surrounding area. They play 14 games per year in the Western Wayne County League and may play in 2 to 3 tournaments in the Metro Detroit Area, resulting in about 30 games per year.
These Pride teams will play against similarly skilled teams within the Western Wayne County League that share a common goal; to develop fast-pitch softball skills while having fun. All players play at least two innings per game. One tournament and 14 league games comprise a typical schedule for this level of play. The Western Wayne County League will be entering its 13th year in the 2008 season. Members of this league are from the following communities: Plymouth/Canton, Garden City, Novi, Livonia, Farmington, Trenton, Allen Park, Riverview, Flat Rock, Ann Arbor, Taylor, Saline, Westland, Bellville, Wyandotte, and Dearborn. In 2008 the Pride will host teams in the 10U, 12U, 14U and 16U Elite/College Exposure divisions.
In 2007 each of the Premier Travel Teams, U-10 Stars, U-12 Stars, U-14 Stars and U-16 Elite earned berths and competed in their respective World Series Tournaments.
