The <strong>2008 Plymouth-Canton Pride</strong> is a seventh-year travel fastpitch softball organization. The Pride organization and teams are located in the adjoining communities of Plymouth and Canton, Michigan--about 35 miles west of Detroit.<br />
<br />
We are a community based organization. As part of the Greater Canton Youth Baseball and Softball Association (GCYBSA), girls that live within the Plymouth-Canton communities <em>or</em> attend ANY school in Plymouth-Canton including Public, Private, Charter and Home Schools are eligible to play for the Pride.</font> <font size="2"><font face="Arial"><font face="Helvetica">The mission of the Pride is to provide a multi-leveled program that provides a positive atmosphere where girls can acquire progressive training in the skills of&nbsp; Fast-Pitch Softball at all ages while creating a fun environment for girls - of all skill levels - to benefit from the travel team sport experience, and to prepare skilled and experienced players for high school and beyond. </font></font></font><font face="arial,helvetica,sans-serif"><font face="Helvetica"><font size="2">With the Pride, you will play fast-pitch softball with girls of your own age and ability. Age groupings are: 10 and under; 12 and under; 14 and under; and 16 and under. For the 2008 season, teams are being fielded in each&nbsp;age group.&nbsp;&nbsp;<font face="Arial"> </font></font></font></font><font size="2"><font face="arial,helvetica,sans-serif"><span style="font-family: helvetica">The Pride offers three levels of play: </span><span style="font-family: helvetica">Western Wayne County Travel; Community Travel; and Premier Travel.</span></font> </font></span>

<font size="3" color="#000080"><font size="2"><font color="#ff0000"><strong>Premier Travel/Elite College Exposure&nbsp;- 16U and 18U</strong></font><br />
</font><font color="#000000"><font size="2"><em><strong>There are no residency requirements for these teams.<br />
</strong></em>These Pride teams endeavor to play and compete with the best teams in the Great&nbsp;</font><font size="2">Lakes region. The objective of this level is to participate in College Exposure&nbsp;</font><font size="2">events/tournaments, encourage participation in college exposure camps, nurture&nbsp;</font><font size="2"> lines of communication with college scouts and recruiters, and play in a World&nbsp;</font><font size="2">Series/National Tournament each summer. We will play in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana,&nbsp;</font><font size="2">and Illinois. Anticipate playing at least 60-80 games per year, including indoor&nbsp;</font><font size="2">winter scrimmages and tournaments. The team will practice year round and&nbsp;</font><font size="2">consistent attendance at practices and games is expected. This is a high&nbsp;</font><font size="2"> profile, high commitment, high visibility level of the Pride program.&nbsp;</font><font size="2">All of our premier players have earned spots&nbsp;</font><font size="2">on their respective high school teams. Collegiate level discussions ensue with&nbsp;</font><font size="2">some of our existing players.&nbsp;<span style="font-family: helvetica">

</font><em><font color="#000000">Our residency policy now allows for the inclusion of players outside the Plymouth-Canton Community at this level of play.<br />
</font></em></strong><font color="#000000">These Pride teams endeavor to play and compete with the best teams in the Great Lakes region. We will play in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois, and possibly qualify to play in the &ldquo;World Series&rdquo; in the first week of August. A Premier Travel team will play in 60-80 games per year, including indoor winter scrimmages and tournaments. You will compete with the best softball players in the Plymouth/Canton area to win a spot on a Premier Travel team.</font></span><font color="#000000">&nbsp;</font></font>

<span style="font-family: helvetica"><strong><font size="2" color="#ff0000">Community Travel</font></strong></span><font face="arial,helvetica,sans-serif"><span style="font-family: helvetica"><strong><br />
</strong><font size="2"><font color="#000000">These Pride teams compete with other travel softball teams from the Western Wayne County and the surrounding area. They play 14 games per year in the Western Wayne County League and may play in 2 to 3 tournaments in the Metro Detroit Area, resulting in about 30 games per year.</font> </font></span></font>

</font></strong>These Pride teams will play against similarly skilled teams within the Western Wayne County League that share a common goal; to develop fast-pitch softball skills while having fun. All players play at least two innings per game. One tournament and 14 league games comprise a typical schedule for this level of play. The <span style="font-family: helvetica">Western Wayne County League will be entering its 13th year in the 2008 season. Members of this league are from the following communities: Plymouth/Canton, Garden City, Novi, Livonia, Farmington, Trenton, Allen Park, Riverview, Flat Rock, Ann Arbor, Taylor, Saline, Westland, Bellville, Wyandotte, and Dearborn.</span> </font></span></font><font size="2"><span style="font-family: helvetica"><font face="Arial"><font face="arial,helvetica,sans-serif" size="3"><span style="font-family: helvetica"><font size="2">In 2008 the Pride will host teams in the 10U, 12U, 14U and 16U Elite/College Exposure divisions.</font>&nbsp;</span></font><font face="arial,helvetica,sans-serif" size="3"><span style="font-family: helvetica"><font size="2">&nbsp;</font>
