Section 2 and 3 Playoff Champions 2005
Third seeded Free Agents won the Section 2 Playoff Championship by defeating regular season champs Longo's Lounge 12-4, and then winning the "if game" by the score of 8-7.
Top seeded Gorman's Pub went 3-0 and defeated David's Rehab by the score of 15-1 to win the Section 3 Playoff Championship. Gorman's completed their championship season with a very impressive overall record of 22-2!

Section One Playoff Summaries
First round action got under way Monday Aug 8th with 3 games being played at McLaughlin Park.
The top seeded teams all were victorious as #4 Metro Sports bested #5 Pickles 13-4, #3 Divas held on for a 7-4 win vs. #6 R.E.M., and #2 Pam's Team outlasted #7 LaRomana 9-3.
Second round games played Aug 10th began with two winner's bracket games as #1 Redbeards jumped out to an early lead in a 10-3 win over #4 Metro Sports, #2 Pam's came back from a 5-4 deficit with a solo HR in the last of the 6th, and then scored the deciding run in the bottom of the 7th to pull out a thrilling 6-5 victory over #3 Divas, and #7 LaRomana used some hot bats to eliminate #6 R.E.M. 16-6 in a loser's bracket contest.
Monday Aug 15 began with the King Seat game, and Pam's Team held the Redbeards bats to only 8 hits, and stroked a 2 run triple that sparked a 3 run 5th inning in a 6-3 victory. With the win Pam's advanced to the Championship for the second consecutive season. In the 2nd game, the hot hitting Divas struck early and eliminated Pickles 11-1.
Wednesday Aug 17 saw LaRomana forge to a 7-5 lead before Metro Sports scored 8 unanswered runs to take a 13-7 lead. LaRomana trailed 13-9 into the top of the 7th when a 2 out rally got the score to 13-12, and the tying run at 3rd, before the final out was made. The Divas then continued their late season roll by holding off Metro Sports 8-4 for their third playoff victory.

Final Night Playoff Results...Section One
Monday August 22 saw the 2005 PASL Season come to a close with 2 exciting Section One playoff games.
In the final loser's bracket game, the Divas sent 11 batters to the plate in the top of the 1st and ran out to a 6-0 lead. Not to be outdone, Redbeards had 10 batters come to the plate in the bottom half of the inning. After the first two batters were retired Redbeards plated 7 runs to take a 7-6 lead. Redbeards added a run in the 2nd to go up 8-6, before the Divas regained the lead at 9-8 with 3 runs in the 3rd. Strong defense by each team then took over and the next 3 innings failed to produce a run. Redbeards had a triple to lead off the last of the 6th, and a key 2 out single tied the score at 9. The Divas added 1 in the top of the 7th and Redbeards answered in the bottom half to send the game to the first extra inning contest of the playoffs. After the Divas failed to score in the 8th, Redbeards pulled out the thrilling 11-10 victory with a run in the last at bat.
The Championship game began with Redbeards scoring 2 in the opening inning, but Pam's bats were smoking and 9 hits produced 7 runs in the bottom of the inning. With Pam's holding an 8-2 lead in the 4th, Redbeards sent 12 batters up, and 9 hits of their own drove across 6 runs to knot the score at 8 all. Pam's would then build the lead to 13-8 entering the top off the 7th. Once again with their backs to the wall, Redbeards sent all 9 batters to the plate in the top of the 7th, and with some timely hitting aided by a few Pam's errors, 5 runs came home and the regular seasons top 2 teams were deadlocked at 13 all. Pam's then used a lead off single, an error, and then a game ending double to win the the championship 14-13.
